Bloop33's Blog
Well, as I continue to figure out how I want to do these posts, and read other guys posts to learn (from all sports) I've decided to post this update in it's own dynasty page here.
Since most of my roster is computer generated, here is a link to the team "intro" page:
http://www.operationsports.com/Bloop...-introduction/
Note: This is just the line-up I use when everyone is healthy, no prospects or scratches included.
Anyways, I'm currently 8 games into the season, have played all 8 and am sitting with a 7-1-0 record.
Game 1: 6-0 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.
Game 2: 4-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Game 3: 3-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Game 4: 3-1 loss to the Washington Capitals.
Game 5: 5-0 victory over the Buffalo Sabres.
Game 6: 4-3 victory over the New Jersey Devils.
Game 7: 4-3(OT) victory over the Montreal Canadiens.
Game 8: 5-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Current Line-up:
Injuries:
Steve Bordson, who had just been promoted to the 2nd line, was hit high against the Montreal Canadiens and is out for 5 weeks with Post Concussion Syndrome.
Team Statistics:
Joe Tyrell and Jamie Baron have been off to a great start, and their centerman Danny Wilm has started to turn his game around.
The 2nd line has provided some great offense early, but has also struggled at times, and now with Bordson out for 5 weeks, Colin Meldere will be relied upon to provide more offence on a consistent basis.
The 3rd line has been really good as a shut down line, spending most of their shifts in the offensive zone. Perreaux has been able to lead the centermen in faceoff percentage, and as long as they keep it up, I will be able to play my 3rd line with more confidence than I have in previous seasons.
The 4th line has been surprisingly strong defensively, with Kerman tied for the most take-aways on the team. The big strong line allows little in their own zone, which hasn't been the case in past seasons. Probably the best 4th line I've had in a few seasons.
The top d-pairing of Kantor and Hartnell have had a great start to the season, lead the team in icetime by far, usually getting 27 minutes per game. Will probably switch the d-pairings around this season, to see if I can find the best mix, but the young Hartnell and veteran Kantor are showing the chemistry they had in Hartnell's first 2 seasons is still there and alive.
Casey Fast has struggled a bit this season, with Alexei Dadonov being the stronger of the pairing, but Fast is known to be one of the best defencemen in the game, and there is no worries from management about his form. Expecting him to finish around +20 on the season.
The 3rd defensive pairing has probably been the best I've ever had. Persson has been a great surprise, better in his own zone than expected. Makkonen has been a beast, and will probably see time on the 2nd unit before the 15 game mark of the year.
Calle Moller has been very good in net for the team. With 3 shutouts, is on pace to potentially have the most in 1 season by an NHL goalie. He has had only a few bad goals go in, usually a badly positioned rebound, but he hasn't given up much, making it easy for the offence to get the team a win.
Lehtivuori has only played 1 game, the 3rd game of the year on the end of a back to back series of games, was very good in the game. May play his way to more starts then expected if Moller struggles later in the season.
All I have for now, hope you enjoy and read my next one shortly.
