EA and Their Lack Of Respect For Its Consumers and Supporters.
Posted on June 21, 2009 at 09:59 PM.

EA has half assed on NCAA Football since next gen started. WTF. You have a year to make a quality game. It doesn't have to be perfect because nothing can be but give us something to work with then improve it as the years go on. With the technology that you have at your disposal there is no excuse that you should be having these problems. This is why exclusive rights are bad because EA can mess up a game and keep messing up with no accountability giving excuse after tired *** excuse. That **** is disgusting. It makes me sick. Do you think that Disney half assed his cartoons hell no. What makes it worse that you EA supporters and fan boys keep supporting this sorry lame *** excuse for a game. Even with madden, although they are finally making a turn around, this should have been done a long time ago. The game has potential but I'll never reach it until they quit half assign and giving us the watered down product and give us what we want. It's sad when PS2 gameplay and physics are better than Next GEN systems (Xbox 360 and PS3). EA Don't say you're listening to the community and will give us what we want then turn around and give us crap aka season showdown, windsocks, towels on the hip etc. All that stuff is fine and dandy but that should already be in the game not being a feature. I mean come on, you implement season show down but your players run like they have a rod up their *** (no homo). I'm not trying to bash EA I've played EA games forever but companies like 2k are showing you up. It's sad. I was a former fanboy who didn't care that I got the same game year after year until I saw videos by apexisfree on YouTube. My eyes were opened. Guys what I'm saying is if we refuse to buy this crap and force EA to own up to their responsibility as exclusive rights owner to football games to make a game worth playing. Patches are for occasional fixes in minor areas like glitches or things of that such, not patching the game up on release date and having inaccurate rosters. Come on people that's the first thing that should be done. Let's not mention downloadable content. Not that we don't have enough cheesing going on as it is. Adding that will make it worse. EA you're slipping. I'm letting it be known EA you're slipping. Check yourself EA. Right now I equate yell to the Raiders, Lions, KC Royals, of the sports gaming industry right now.......Bottom Feeders. Get Your **** right before BACKBREAKER, and APF football aka NFL 2k5 take your position of power over. Make some noise people and tell me what you think

Lol. I liked the "no homo". Something me and my boys always say but as to your rant, I think it's a bit unwarranted, especially when we see what's already happened with Fifa and NHL actually taking over 2KSports iterations as preferred soccer and hockey games. Now they are working on Madden and NBA Live. I think they finally "get it" and as for NCAA Football, the only prob with that is that the actual onfield game tech usually get intro'd in Madden before NCAA gets it the next year. That's been their normal deal so I am not surprised that NCAA Football 10 plays almost exactly like Madden 09. With that said, if u stick to just Madden and Live, I think going back two years ago, u may have a almost completely valid rant but not now, although we still have yet to get to play Madden 10 or Live 10 yet it looks like they are putting in some serious hard work on both.
Now, as for 2K vs. EA, different engines. I think that since 2K is comprised of former Visual Concepts, if I'm mistaken, folks who used to work on Madden, back in the day, they jumped ship and created completely different engines than EA's for their sports games from the get-go. They spent their startup capital on that and made it seemingly a more flexible, animation heavy engine than EA's. EA had already invested in their sports game engines and they are more of a corporate monster than 2K. 2K didn't have to deal with the handcuffs that EA employees had to all this time. Large companies like that usually don't like to take chances and get comfortable with a particular business model where as 2K was like, "Eff it!" and could take more chances to be able to compete. The funny thing is that 2KSports is actually starting to show some of that complacency. APF 2K8 was straight 2K5 without the NFL licenses and looked like *** on current gen systems. As for NBA 2K, lots of people started see how they haven't really done much to the gameplay and are getting a little antsy. I like 2K9 a lot and it was my b-ball game of choice, last year, but I have to admit, Live 09 has better post play, pick and roll/fade/pop, on-court play diagrams and play calling for specific players on your team...but that's about it. Lol. They are getting that game together, though.

Backbreaker??? Dawg, do u know that BB's comp is most likely gunna end up being Blitz?? That game is NOT going for sim, as admitted by Natural Motion. All they have going for it is the Euphoria tech and I don't think that will be enough because they are also trying odd camera things which could really end up being the death of it. I like different things like when 2K3 into'd first person football. I played that a lot but it did take some getting used to. Most people couldn't deal and it will be the same with Backbreaker.

I say if you put things in perspective, you would see a bit of what I am talking about and not be so upset. I, too, used to be mad at EA for not doing more with Madden and Live but they got the point, now. I think Peter Moore is giving them the point, as well (no homo)

I agree with you I mean look at the demo. How many times do you see the new collar tackle animation, and its not even a legal tackle anymore. WOW! I mean you slap an espn logo on the cover and the only stat overlay thats new is erin andrews. Give me some team intros, better stat overlays, Bowl Patches on uniforms etc. The replays have the super turbo speed problem from madden last year. Im just not impressed. But here I am probably the main part of the problem because I have to have my ncaa fix so i will probably go out and buy it because I have no choice If I want my college football. I just wish EA would listen I mean I cant believe that these guys are getting paid to slap a few new animations in a game and have the same engine and same repetitive announcers year after year. Step it up NCCA football staff.

I enjoyed EA's transparency of development for Madden, but I felt NCAA did lag behind a bit. There isn't too much to change but getting the rosters wrong is inexcusable. Vote with your money and don't buy the game. Thats the only way to fix this but its not as broken as you think.

I wrote a big article on NCAA and what the heck has happened to one of my favorite games on here, check it.
