Even with the Saints posting a pedestrian 1-4 record coming into Ford Field, the Lions knew they would be in for a battle against Drew Brees and the Saints.

Matthew Stafford threw two touchdowns, including a go-ahead scoring toss to Taylor Gabriel in the fourth quarter as Detroit came away with a tight 31-26 victory. The win is their third straight after dropping the season's first two games.

Involved in trade rumors throughout the week and returning from injury, Eric Ebron made a few tough catches and scored his first touchdown of the season. Meanwhile rookie Bobby Herrera continues to be a pleasant surprise as he posted 5 catches for 60 yards.

It wasn't a great day running the football for the Lions who only managed 78 yards on the ground, but Detroit did score two rushing touchdowns in the win. One of which came from Zach Zenner in a goalline situation.

The Lions take on the Baltimore Ravens (2-4) next week who have won two consecutive games after an 0-4 start, meanwhile the road only gets tougher for New Orleans as they host Green Bay (3-3).
