Nebraska Struggles Early, Pulls Away Late vs Florida Atlantic

Nebraska's expected tune-up game before their top-ten showdown with Miami ended up being anything but that as Nebraska was put on upset alert well in to the 2nd half. First-year starter Tommy Armstrong Jr struggled at QB throwing an early pick 6 that gave the the Owls a 7-0 lead. Nebraska would bounce back however with two field-goals to make it 7-6 at the half.

With 2 first half turnovers, OC Zach Fanko decided to play it safe and keep the ball on the ground. This strategy worked to perfection as Nebraska methodically moved the ball down the field. Senior HB Ameer Abdullah capped the drive off with an 8-yard TD run and the ensuing 2-point conversion to make it 14-7 Huskers. A field goal on the next drive would be as close as FAU would get as Nebraska's run-oriented offense pounded the Owls defense to the tune of over 200 yards rushing. Much of the damage done by Abdullah who scored 2 TDs, one rushing and one receiving late in the game for a final score of 28-10.

Next week #9 Miami comes into Lincoln for what should be as great a match-up as their is in the country!
