Zach Fanko Offered Offensive Coordinator Position at Nebraska

Offensive Coordinator Zach Fanko has decided to leave Tulane after only one season to take the same position at Nebraska. Very surprising move from the young coach who many believed to be coming back after leading the Green Wave to record breaking year on offense, finishing 2nd in the country in total offense.

It looked like Fanko was going to be the successor to head coach Curtis Johnson who was hired by Wake Forest but Tulane decided to go with Louisville offensive coordinator Shawn Watson. Reports are saying that this may have been the reason for Fanko leaving Tulane.

Now coach Fanko takes over a Nebraska offense that weeks ago was playing for a National Championship. Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini had this to say about the hire, "Zach brings a lot of energy on the offensive side of the football and a commitment to the run game which will work out very well for us".
