Madden Football and NFL History...
Posted on August 8, 2010 at 02:13 PM.
This weekends NFL Hall of Fame festivities have got me thinking about the opportunities Madden football has missed on the Next Gen consoles.

Part of what makes the NFL so interesting is its history. So I'd like to see Madden begin using that history in gameplay... someday.

The most important thing to me would first be era specific playbooks and players. I see other sports games that are able to use past players, the upcoming NBA 2K11 and ActionPC sports are a couple.

In addition, I'd love to see the return of classic stadiums. I want to play as Dan Marino in The Orange Bowl or as Fran Tarkenton in a driving snowstorm at the old Metropolitan stadium. The return of one and two bar facemasks and Astroturf!

I would actually be willing to pay extra on a per season basis to get this as downloadable content. I think people would have a blast being able to play through their favorite teams most successful seasons.

Come on EA... make it happen!

I would love this. 80's style tv graphics and everything. Astroturf man that stuff was crazy.

This would be pretty sweet. Imagine having games with the steelers from the 70's against 80's 49ers. Or the "greatest show on turf" against the bears defense of the 80's. That'd be pretty cool.
