With the last pay-per-view of 2010 concluding last Sunday (TLC), we can now look towards the first PPV of the new year: Royal Rumble. This is one of my favourite pay-per-views. I'm going to hazard a guess at the matches that will be on the card. Note: I put these in the order I assume they'll be in.
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Jack Swagger and/or Kofi Kingston
Winner: Jack Swagger (or Kofi if Swagger isn't in the match)
Dolph has been the champion for a long time. I think it's time for him to lose the title, and judging by the Cena-Ziggler mini-feud that just got started, I think Creative is trying to move him to bigger and better things. So, we have this match. Honestly, Ziggler's opponent isn't all that clear. It could be Swagger, it could be Kofi, it could be just about of the midcarders on Smackdown (Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, even Chris Masters if they want to push him). However, I think it will be Swagger because he's been free falling ever since he lost his World Heavyweight Championship belt. This is a good way to get him back on track.
Natalya (c) vs. Melina
Winner: Natalya
Melina won a #1 Contender match last night on Raw, so she has a match against Natalya. I see no reason for Natalya to lose. She's being pushed heavily right now, and she's the best female wrestler on the Raw roster. Oh, not to mention that tbe inevitable Beth Phoenix-Natalya feud would only be worthwhile if there was a title on the line.
Edge (c) vs. Kane, Buried Alive match
Winner: Edge
This match is a result of Kane's rematch clause. I think this will give Edge something to do until his rumored heel turn and feud with Christian. The stipulation will add an interesting turn to a match we've already seen too much of in the last couple of pay-per-views. At any rate, I expect this to be the last Edge-Kane match.
The Miz (c) vs. John Morrison
Winner: The Miz
John Morrison is being pushed a lot right now and the Miz is being cast as a weak champion who resorts to underhanded tactics to win matches. Still, I think Miz will win, probably with outside interference from Alex Riley and/or Michael Cole. John Morrison would make a BS champion. He's fun to watch, but his finisher sucks and he lacks mic skills. I'm pretty sure he'll be booked to have another match with Miz at Wrestlemania, maybe with Cena and/or Randy Orton involved. There's a chance he'll win it then, but we'll see.
30-Man Royal Rumble
Winner: CM Punk, Christian, Wade Barrett, John Cena or Randy Orton (listed in order of likelihood)
Given there's thirty wrestlers here, I think it's fair that I get more than one guess. Anyways, I feel confident in my guesses. Christian and Punk are both out of commission right now, and giving them the victory would not only get them going strong right away, but also get them into Wrestlemania. If Punk won, then he and John Cena will build on their ongoing mini-feud and they'll have a match with some sort of stipulation at Wrestlemania. Christian, on the other hand, would immediately enter into a feud with Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship that will lead to a match at Wrestlemania. As for the other two, well, Barrett has been struggling as of late with Nexus imploding a bit, and this would give him a push as well as giving him (and Nexus by extension) a Wrestlemania ticket where they can conclude the Nexus angle in time for the WWE Draft where the various members will be split up between Raw and Smackdown. Cena is also there simply because he is Cena, same for Orton. However, they're all but guranteed for Wrestlemania, so I don't think Cena and Orton neccessarily need the push. Then again, this is the WWE.

Sucks though because I always liked the Main Event, but I don't know any of those guys except Edge, Christian, and Kane (who used to wear a mask back when wrestlers had unique personas). But I digress, still a cool match.
