Portland Planet: "Sea Dogs Lose Again"
Feliz's 2 Home Runs Sink Sea Dogs
Cal Johnson

Binghamton's Ramon Feliz connects on his second home run in the eighth inning.

It was a back-and-forth night between the Binghamton Mets and the Portland Sea Dogs as both teams matched each other until the very end. When one team would take the lead, the other would quickly tie the game. Binghamton's catcher, Ramon Feliz, proved to be the difference maker in the game. Clobbering two home runs at exactly the same area in RF, Feliz drove in three runs as the last-place Sea Dogs fell victim to a close loss once again.
The Sea Dogs took an early 1-0 nothing lead in the first inning on Reynaldo Moya's home run. The Mets tied the game at the top of the second, but the Sea Dogs responded in the bottom of the second to regain the lead. Feliz's first home run of the season tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the sixth, but the Sea Dogs scored a run to take the lead again in the same inning. In the eighth inning, Feliz hit a two-run home run to give the Mets a 4-3 lead. The Mets would also get a key home run from Bruney in the top of the ninth to take a 5-3 lead. The Sea Dogs scored in the bottom of the ninth to draw within one, but with the bases loaded, the Sea Dogs were unable to cash in as Mets closer Terrence Daniels got Rob Knowles to pop up for the third out for his sixteenth save of the season.
Josias Munoz (3-2) was the winning pitcher for the Mets, while Nino Sosa (0-5) received the loss). The two teams play again tonight.
