NBA 2K Morale...
Posted on October 20, 2011 at 04:19 PM.
Hey guys, Maybe I should post this in a NBA 2k thread somewhere but it'll probably go unrecognized. I have a question about team chemistry and player morale in association mode. I'm playing with the Nets and my record is 23-16 (pretty good for a team that only won 24 games in total last season). However almost all of my players rating are down by 1 or 2 points (including D.Williams who is top 10 in PPG and the league leader in assists). Anthony Morrow leads the NBA in 3pts and him and Vujacic are top 5 in 3pt%. Vujacic's overall is down by 5 points. He clearly is upset (idk why) and does not want to be with the team (maybe i'll trade him or something). However, I don't understand why these guys overall are down a point or two even though they're all content, enjoying playing time, and the team is winning. C'mon is the Nets, these guys should be happy about a turn around like this.

Is it something broken within the game? What do you guys do to change this if you have dealt with a situation like this?

Progressive fatigue? Players will wear down and become tired over the course of a season. You can turn it off on the Association settings and see if the player ratings go back to normal. If they are in a content or above mood, then the rating shouldn't be dropping because of the role.

I doubt it's progressive fatigue, It's been like that since before game 1.

Chemistry is about how comfortable your teammates are with each other. I play with the bobcats and the spurs. My bobcats team chemistry is horrible because they as a core team haven't been together long however the spurs who have a worse record chemistry is wonderful cause they've been playing together for years.

Turn off player roles, if they get even 1 minute below their minimum for that role, they will be upset. Let's say I gave Landry Fields the starter role but he's only been averaging 28 minutes per game, we could be undefeated but he will still be upset because the minimum for starter role is 30 minutes per game.

Actually that's not true. I play my superstars at 28 and any other starters around 23 to 25 pending on age and production. I never have any complaints and I do the Fantasy Draft. I might have some bench players upset but those are mostly bench warmers and prospects who don't see much playing time at all.

Back when I didn't know how to control my team on 2k10 I would edit their roles. If you have them as the sixth man and they feel they should be starting edit their role and it should fix itself. I haven't had to do this since then because managing minutes gets easier as you continue to play and understand what YOU are trying to do. If the players moral gets too low then trade them for a better fit or someone who doesn't require alot of minutes. I mostly go for vets in that scenario because if they have only been getting 8 to 15 minutes a game 10 mins a game will not hurt them. Also, check the actual minutes that compare the amount of minutes they would get if you played 12 min qtrs. It is very helpful. Just give it sometime you should get it down pack.
