Man I love this NBA 2k12. Yea, it sucks that the original rookies aren't in the game due to the lockout. However, thanks to guys like Clipperfan811 and Bakb, guys get to download their created rookies on 2k shares. These guys put 100% into it, making sure these guys have their respective jersey numbers and fitting them into the rotation. They also made sure that each player had their tendencies as perfect as possible.
This game really keeps you on your feet. I play in All-Star (SIM) and CPU kills you if you don't pay attention. I started with the Nets with the mentality that I will rebuild them into a competing team. I got demolished by 21 against the Mavs. I thought to myself god damn I'm never going to beat these good teams playing with the Nets. After that big loss, my next game was vs the Heats in Miami. I was thinking "damn these guys are going to run all over me". I remember telling my friends on Xbox Live, "my goal is to lose by 15 or less". I really wanted to give the heat at least a run for their money. I had no expectations on winning the game. However, last season the Mavs exposed the Heats by playing great zone defense. I decided to do the same and play 2-3 and 3-2 zone throughout the game. Man did it work just fine. I had Wade on lock with only 10 pts in the game. LeBron was unstoppable however Lopez and Humphries put in work in the paint. Next thing you know, I beat the Heats in OT. Man was I pumped, Next thing to you know, I lose by 20 to the Wolves.

You really need to gameplan each team differently and attack their weakness! Man I love me some NBA 2k12

Dude i am in the same boat as you; this game has got me in AWE!!! you really need to know how to play certain TEAMS. I just played the Celtics with the Blazers ("BLAZERS" one of my favourite teams -also a huge sleeper in last years game, and this year again) i had no business in really competing with them (Celtics) at all; hey they are the Celtics. So the first period went by and i was getting hammered; then i remembered that lengthy teams really bother the Celtics, so i put taller more agile players on Ray Ray, and the Truth, and backed off Rajon, and left KG to deal with Lamarcus, and the Camby-man, with a sprinkle or two of The Oden-son. Well let me tell you how that totally turned that game around. i actually blew out the Celtics at home. I couldn't flippin believe it myself as it was happening. this game seemed to real for me. i also play on ALL-Star (sim).
Cheers 2K for bring Us a masterpiece of a game this year. now i am going to go grab those rookies in 2k share; thanks for the update, and kool post.
