NBA 2K15: players birthdate will be editable?
Posted on August 11, 2014 at 08:37 AM.
Put yourself in the shoes of Kobe Bryant fan who chooses L.A. Lakers and the Black Mamba to begin his long career in NBA 2K15: what is the biggest problem in a situation like this? Your idol who retires after only one year, maybe two.
A lot of guys who spend 60 euro / dollars to play an association with Kobe Bryant or Tim Duncan or Ginobili and after just one season they disappear from NBA 2K15, due to the retire.
To solve this problem, 2K should make editable the players birthdate, as it was in NBA 2K9, so you can postpone your idols retire.
This is the theory of @CoachZenBarba on twitter, longtime italian 2Kplayer with 42 2Kseason to his credit, all narrated in the kobangelestimes.blogspot.it
And Scott O'Gallagher, fresh gameplay producer of 2KSports, like on twitter this CoachZenBarba Theory.

I wouldn't care if this is implemented, but I personally would never use this. Breaks the immersion for me. Too fake imo. And Kobe Bryant was my first favorite player even as a Knicks fan, I just don't see this making sense. However, it doesn't hurt to provide the option I guess.

For sure. I am a fan of Association. I spend 60 euros to make an Association with Kobe Bryant and he disappear from NBA2K15 after 1 year due to retire? No way. I must have te possibility to postpone his retire.

Yeah, "however, it doesnt hurt to provide the option".
This is the point. 2K, give us the option to decide our idols retire making players birthdate editable. Just give the option. And then the users decide if use it or not. But give us the option: because, i repeat, i dont want to pay 60 euros to play only a season with my idol due to retire.

Yea, why not? I mean they should just take EAs idea about that postponing retirement. I think it was in 09 & 10 where you able to use a power save or something like that & the player won't retire til after a year or two. The option will pop up before they retire & you get to use that option to keep them on the team of let them go. If someone remembers they can elaborate more on it.

Or, like what are seeing now in the NBA with children of Legends in the league:
Klay Thompson
Tim Hardaway Jr.
Glen Rice Jr.

What about a player that is later drafted into the league as Kobe Bryant Jr., which has his game and physical likeness.

The same as now you have current players migrating towards coaching, the dna of these starts can evolve even further in their kids.
