Nba 2k13, the real problem to reach the perfection
Posted on September 1, 2012 at 04:42 AM.
Watching this video, click pause where LBJ shots, you can see what is the real problem, for me, in Nba2k series.

Players are too big compared to the court. The court size is the same between the two videos (take the size of the two baskets as point of comparison), but the body-mass of the 2kLeBron is enormous compared to the real LeBron in the real video. The shots are perfect, but the body-mass is not. And this problem is in all the players, so if all the players have a superior body-mass, the court space between the player is less. Now take a look at this real screenshot, look at the space between the players when there are real proportion players-court.

I love Nba2k and i write this post because i hope that the producers will make this corrections for Nba2k14. The 2kplayers need to be a little bit more slim, are u agree?

To me, it doesn't look like the cameras are at the same angle. And also, the NBA 2K footage was recorded using a cell possibly or a digicam with not so good quality from Gamescom. The image looks stretched. So that possibly might be giving an off appearance. I don't think it can be compared fairly using that footage. The quick vid they showed during E3, the models didn't look like that. Just my opinion though.

Player model sizes is the only thing EA does better than 2K

I think the player models/sizes are fine.

That is an interesting point. The disproportion explains why people can almost cover the whole court with one player. It seems like the simple fix would be to enlarge the court. The players might be a little bulky but they are still great models. This issue along with the slow passes makes for a lot of cheesing. I hope that it is fixed as I can't take another 2k12. Spacing is key and it should be virtually impossible for one player to defend more than one player if proper spacing is present.

I totally agree. Look at this, it's a Nba Live 13 screenshot taken by pre-alpha footage on Youtube and for me the players size are perfect

@kydice
that's correct. The perfect size between players and court give a lot of possibility for the gameplay and can solve the problem of the slow passes. The perfect size between players and court for me it's a little correction that can make big improvements for nba2k14

Finally someone agrees with me! This is (and has been) one of the biggest problem of the NBA 2K series... those huge player models kill the spacing on the floor. That combined with the unrealistic recovery speed makes you rely mostly on isolation-based offense because it's difficult to move the ball properly.

@gabri3I3
That's the point. Huge player models kills the spacing on the floor. Nba 2k14 players size should be like Nba Live 13 screenshot above

You've completely JUMPED THE GUN on this one. Have you even played NBA 2K13 in person at all?

I have for over 30 mins and the FIRST THING YOU NOTICE is that they've slimmed down the players and made them more lanky feeling, and natural looking without some of the muscle head player models from past series. The only player with massive shoulders is Lebron, and even though Kendrick Perkins is a tank, he's not modeled like an NFL football player.

I love this site, but you're just spreading uneducated information, and basing it on camera angles from a demo is horrible.

Here's my hands-on from my closed door session with the guys and one of the first things I mention is the improved player models.
