So when Madden started using the Jostens rings, and the horrific tiers, I was irritated to say the least. The stats were there, but they were fractured, not together as they have been for so long, and never gave me the feeling of progress...I mean, it's a sports game, and what are great players measured by? Championships, and stats...
So when I fired up my copy of this years Madden, I fully expected to find the Jostens rings still there. When I saw they weren't, I was happy as a pig in...well, you know. But then I looked all over for my stats page...But I couldn't even find a place other than a save screen where my profile was...And then, after a poster here on OS told me where to look, I was stunned...
Not only were my user stats linked to EA and their stupid sportsworld but to their servers...And even then, it tracks Wins, Losses, Ties, and only offensive stats that number around 9...Nothing useful though...And I've seen my games played jump from 3 to 6 2 days after my last game. How is it possible that EA could ruin the most simple, and easiest part of the programming? Even more baffling is that they also release NCAA Football, and I find ALL my stats in one place, aptly named USER STATS. The stat tracking for playing online is extensive, and great... Lots of numbers and catagories...
But I'm not a big online player with Madden because more often than not I end up with some dope who decides to play like a tart than playing a football game. So why am I left in the cold when it comes to my stats? How can EA completely drop a staple of ANY sports game? I guess without a blatant advertisement that offered a fractured setup, it wasnt' worth it...So now, if I'm not logged into XBL, and the EA servers (which we all know are so reliable) than my stats, what little there is they track, are not there.
Who knows, maybe they will put a user stats page up as DLC, and for the low low price of 5 bucks, I can have what I always got on my old Xbox, a Madden game that tracks stats like a sports game should...Pathetic...
