Chris Nwoke had his best game of the season against Utah State.
If not the rain, then Pete must have been affected by the loss to Colorado. On the very first play, he throws an interception. Instead of Coach Wile’s customary ‘wild’ reaction to an interception, he looked relatively calm when talking to Pete on the sideline as Utah State easily scored. Thankfully, next drive Colorado State is right back in it. Chris started the game running the ball extremely well. Score is tied 7-7 when Mychal Sisson forces a fumble and recovers it to give the Rams excellent field position. Pete tosses a short pass to his favorite receiver TJ Borcky to lead 14-7. Pete is looking much better than he did at the start of the game, finishing the half 10/15 on 145 yards. Shortly after his touchdown, TJ goes down for the second time this season. TJ and Pete are close friends, and perhaps the injury created a distraction for Pete and caused him to fumble and throw an interception on his next two drives. Going into the 4th the Rams have the lead 28-24. Pete did not look the same after TJ went down, throwing his 4th interception in the 4th. Despite the countless chances Utah State received, they could not come through with another score. Chris Nwoke had an excellent game, rushing for over 200 yards, 3 touchdowns and earning Player of the Game honors. TJ Borcky will return next game at San Jose State.
