Nowitzki proves to be too clutch

After an easy 124 : 98 win against Indiana the next heavyweight knocked on the door, the Dallas Mavericks.

I turned out to be a closely fought game until the end, with neither team able to make a run to get a decisive advantage.

The Mavericks clogged up the middle and forced an unusual number of bad shots from the Jazz (mainly Williams, Okur).

My fellow countryman Dirk Nowitzki was nearly impossible to guard in the clutch and scored a heart-breaking 28 pts (every one of them felt like a dagger to the heart) and had 15 rebounds.

Jason Terry added 24 and Butler 20, while Kidd had 11/11 on points and assists.

With one minute to go the game was tied 105 : 105, but clutch-shooting by Nowitzki and Butler scored the go-ahead buckets while trips by Williams and Jefferson turned up being scoreless.

All in all the game felt disjointed, with me allowing the Mavericks to gain an unneccessary edge. A more concentrated efforts could have won the game.
