Franchise Mode End Game: Madden Raises the Bar

I've just watched the Super Bowl Celebration videos on the homepage for Madden 11 and I'm awestruck. These things are unlike anything seen in a sports game ever. I believe EA Sports has raised the bar as far as this goes. I know it may seem like a minor thing, but isn't this something all of us sports gamers have wanted in our games when it comes to championship celebrations. It may seem somewhat minor in comparison to all the things that have to go into a franchise mode, but something like this actually goes a long way in getting you involved in the success of your team. The Commentator yelling into the headset in joy over the newly crowned NFL Champions. The Narrator breaking down the teams journey to this very moment. It was immersive. Watching those videos made me think about what might be said about my Colts, Eagle or Vikings. Would anything be said about the loss of McNabb and ot the rise/rebirth of Kolb/Vick. How might the Colts play out with their dominance of the AFC South. I think all the other sports games, I'm speaking to Live/Elite and NBA 2K specifically, could take a cue from this and step their games up. But this has me excited about a madden game for the first time since forever. WOW.

My next blog will be over the things I believe 2K Games and Visual Concepts could do to make Association mode even better and further the gap between the best Franchise Mode in Sports and the rest of the field.
