Overall I have had a lot of fun with this game. I picked it up at a local gamestop in Richardson, Texas. They had 2 copies for each system. So lets get to the good the bad and the ugly.
Good)
1. The real-time physics in this game are amazing. You won't see your running back getting stood up only to break through a 5 man gang tackle and then take it to the house. Sure you can get a 6, 7, or 12 yard gain but they are very rewarding. You will also have some plays where it gets blown up in the backfield. The running seemed very balanced to me.
2. On defense I only control one player. Usually the outside linebacker or safety(thats what I played in HS) You get the feel that you are in a real game when you just stick to one player. Its a nice change of pace to just make your reads and then flow to the ball. This is the best feature in the game for me. I say 1,000% yes on playing defense.
3. On offense I absolutely love running the ball, like I said you have to actually earn your yardage and you don't see any running back or any players for that matter breaking tackles from defensive lineman, and not to many from linebackers.
4. NO PLAYER WARPS (no explanation needed)
5. Tackle Alley. It is amazing. I spent hours just playing this mode. you basically have a drill that pits you against various numbers of defenders as you race across the field to attempt to score a TD by any means necessary. You can use shoulder charge, spin move, etc.... This mode is very fun. You get points for dong different maneuvers.
I'll give the other game modes a try eventually but for now I'm just learning the mechanics of the game.
6. The Price. This game sells for 50 bucks. Well worth it too. I traded in a game and my final cost was 30 dollars
The BAD)
1. The replay system sucks. You cannot get that eye in the sky view when looking over your replays. That's a bummer.
2. There are waaaaaaaay tooo many interceptions in this game. I am not sure they can patch this but something needs to be done about this. I can see how a lot of gamers would immediately be turned off by this reason alone. I limited it by.......****nning the ball of course
3. I have not figured out if you can make pre-snap defensive adjustments. You might be able to but I have not done it yet. It shouldn't be hard to figure out, yet I haven't...maybe its just me.
The Ugly)
1. Um, well to be honest I have nothing to report here.
Finals thoughts
If you want something new and exciting to play than this is a must purchase football game. Its good far outweighs the bad. This game proves that the laws of physics can exist on the virtual gridiron. This is as close to being in a real game as you are going to get for up in your face action. In a word the defense aspect alone makes this game "breathtaking"
Now lets play some football!

yeah, videl it is a fun game to play. Even if you only rent this game its worth it. I've bought plenty of games in the past only to regret the purchase later. This is not one of those games. Is it perfect? no, fun? Yes.
