I agree with you. They are opening up a can of worms by making an example out of Pryor.

I hope Pryor appeals it. The NFLPA should anyways. It sets a bad precedent,grrrrr!!

I have to agree because his original punishment was for a collegiate violation. He has already been punished by not being in the April draft, this suspension does not make any sense. Its not like he is coming in and will be an immediate factor because of his prior mistakes. Totally pointless.

He should be suspended. He is lucky he was eligible for the supplemental draft.

All in all it doesnt matter. He wouldnt have played in those five games anyway because he is so far behind in regards to learning Oakland's system.

@Eski Well in that case how do you feel about Pete "the USC crusher" Carroll. Same punishment for him or no? I mean Carroll is lucky that the NFL allowed him to be a coach. Also Pryor ran a 4.3 forty so who cares how far behind he is. You can't coach speed. The kid earned his shot. Also what is the justfication for suspending Pryor? I'm curious as to your reasoning behind this.

I think Goddell Castro overstepped his bounds. He didn't suspend any of the other guys eligible for the supplemental draft. Every one them were going to be ineligible this season, so what makes Pryor's case 'special'? And what about those guys from UNC? Did they not receive extra benefits? Goddell went too far. I hope they do appeal.

Because Pryor is a douche. Not to mention the only way he would have been eligible for the draft is if he unable to play in any games for Ohio State. Since he was officially only suspended for five games what does he do? He admits to additional infractions that the school was unaware of so he would have been declared ineligible for the season.

All in all, it comes down to integrity and Pryor has none. I believe the suspension was just regardless whether or not the infractions violated NCAA rules. As hypocritical as the NFL can be, Pryor is a high profile athlete in the middle of a high profile scandal. The NFL is a business and if the league feels that it must discipline someone for integrity issues then it is what it is.

I cant speak for Pete Carroll. I know that on the outside some punishments may not appear to fit the crime. However, I have no issues with the commissioner keeping his business in order. Many people forget that the NFL is like any other corporation. It has to have rules, regulations and stipulations in order to keep the business productive.

I love football but in today's society with social media where every little thing a pro athlete does ends up in the news it creates image issues for the league.

All in all Pryor has accepted responsibility for his actions and accepted the punishment. Why do we care if he sits out games? I have a degree and he will make more money in his first season than most of us will make in a life time.

All I can say is I care because its not just about business. Its about right and wrong. Setting standards and this particular case sets a bad precedent for the simple fact that they are NOT following ALL of their own rules. It only applys to certain players. If that were Not true then you would see almost a 1,000 or so athletes suspended in the NFL right now. They pick and choose. These college athletes are NOT allowed to work, they don't get any Real money but the schools make millions, and the NFL billions off of these college kids. You get what I'm saying? Its total BS and a travesty to these kids. It boils down to kids will do what they gotta do. In this case I see nothing wrong with what Pryor did. I don't even care for him as a player but wrong is wrong and I will call it out when I see it.

bottom line is roger goodell has way to much power. however i think these futrue nfl players who do wrong in college shouldnt just get kick off the team and out of school they need to be held accoutable. coaches as well.
