So, you might have remembered that some time ago, I started an alternate F1 universe beginning with the infamous 1994 season on here. I got through three full seasons before stopping at the third race of the 1997 season due to what was presumed to be issues with the pre-q system. Well, I have finally tested and solved what went wrong during the first two races of 1997.

So, I have decided to redo the first two races of 1997 using a new system to determine which three teams from the bottom teams will make it onto qualifying proper. And yes, before you guys are asking, the Pre-Q lists will change after the conclusion of every race. This new system is going to take both drivers' fastest Pre-Q lap times and average them out. However, this big change will be at the expense of the proposed upgrade system that was originally going to be used starting this season but it's still potentially on the table for 1998.

Thankfully, I did save the original team files from 1997 on an external hard drive and then moved them over to an upgraded laptop, so hopefully this series can continue on now.
