I would chalk that up to money, and not enough of it, to produce a game this year or last.

cheers

I don't see a college basketball game in the future - and here's why - too much risk of lawsuits from using the likeness of the players. If a new college game is released and the players look anything like the real players on the team, a lawsuit will occur. But if the game is released and the players don't look like the real players, many people will be disappointed. It's a no-win situation and there's just not enough money to be made to justify the headaches. With NCAA football, it's easier to get around this issue because the players are wearing helmets in the game so people aren't as concerned about the physical likenesses.

Don't know dude but I'd kill for a college basketball game. Well, not kill but you know what I mean.

College basketball is very uninteresting to me, but I would love to have a game.

The lawsuit against EA was first, a poor attempt to gain money and second, a extremely frivolous lawsuit. They opened up the the sharing function so people could share their OWN created teams and players. EA can't control what the consumer does once they purchase the product because it's now the consumers product.

Player likeness will not be an issue NCAA has never released a NCAA Football Game where all the players were exact doubles of their real life counterpart. The only thing they get right is Height, Weight, and jersey number. Which if someone were to bring up a lawsuit based off of that it probably wouldn't make it past the Judges secretary.

College Basketball games would be perfect right now for both EA and 2k. With the labor situation and EA's lack of a True Sim NBA game if they were to develop a march madness or NCAA Basketball they would sell quite a few copies in the first year. College Sports have always been more about the atmosphere and game play. March Madness was a great game but the fact the graphics lacked put EA behind the 8 ball and force them to drop the series. 2k I have no clue why they dropped their College basketball product because it was top notch and overly enjoyable. With Madden and NCAA giving you the ability to watch your players grow from College Atheletes to Pro's a decent to solid attempt by 2k or EA would be great for gamers.

I think you missed my point. Player likeness will be an issue for the casual fan -- the casual fan wants to play with Sullinger or whoever their favorite player may be right out of the box and not worry about trying to find a good, modified roster set.

I didn't miss your point...like I said with College sports video games the players are as close to their likeness as possible. Attributes, height, weight, and jersey number are all they can get and any gamer with half a brain will know that due to NCAA restrictions they won't get an exact duplicate of their favorite player.

And that sounds more like a delusional Hardcore College Basketball fan/Gamer that just wants everything to be their way. I have come to find out that most casual gamers just play the game for the game as long as the stats are close as the NCAA allows and the game is fun to play they will play a rarely complain.
