So I am playing a franchise (offline) for the first time in a very long time. I am in week 8 or so now and have quite a few players ready to negotiate contracts. There are a couple I have no idea if I should attempt to resign, or if I can do better for cheaper in the draft and free agency. I am at work and cannot remember the fair salary offer, but I have a 23 yr old cb 78 overall (normal development) wanting to resign. Any insight of what I should do or how much comes to mind for a contract for a player of this caliber?

This is where EA really messed up CFM, you shouldn't have any 23 year olds about to hit free agency, they should have 4 seasons under their belt before hitting free agency or three seasons to be a restricted free agent. Anyway, for a 23 year old 78 rated CB, I'd start out offering 4-5 million per year and be willing to go up to 7 million. He should develop nicely but it's such a weird scenario to negotiate with someone that young

I can overlook this . The worse thing is, that after the rookie contracts run out and you need to resign your entire draft class (which developed nicely) you would need 70m-120m in chash, just to pay the signing bonuses. I have no idea how to earn so much money.
