But this time it is great news for the Pirates. The local paper, The university newspaper, The East Carolinian, ran a cover story today stating that the updated Boneyard student section has been confirmed for NCAA football 13. The article cites conversations with Ben Haumiller and athletics staff. They also discussed the licensing terms as to why the update wasn't in NCAA footbal 12.

They also discussed the new helmets, saying that the new skull & crossbones helmets are most likely not going to be in the game because the athletics staff has not decided if the helmets will be making a return to the field for the 12-13 football season, so licensing rights have not been given out. However, Ben said there may be a chance at getting them in if the Pirates decide what helmet they are really wearing on the field this year.

Interesting...this was not one of the things that they named off when talking about stadium upgrades, so it makes me wonder if they have made some upgrades in other areas and other stadiums that will be more of a surprise or revealed at a later date. I was under the assumption that the list they revealed were the only changes they made.

I sincerely hope ECU's expansion is in the game this year. They're a loud and loyal fanbase that deserves a little love from EA.
