Madden 12 Franchise Check List and Tips on Improving your Franchise Experience

1. Buy Madden 12 :P

2. Unlock Online Pass

3. Save original roster as Preseasonwk1.ros

4. DL Regular Season Week 1 Roster

5. Save as NFLwk1.ros

6. Load NFLwk1.ros from File Management

7. Go to Franchise Mode

8. Configure Options

a. Suggestions

Settings I used:

Sim Injuries = OFF

INJ = OFF

SAL CAP = ON

QTR = 10

DRAFT = OFF

DEADLINE = ON

USE PRE INJ = OFF/NO

UPDATE CHART = USER

RE-SIGN = USER

FA BIDS = USER

SIGN DRAFT = USER

FILL ROSTER = USER

SIM CUT DAYS = USER

SIM SCOUTING = USER

EDIT PLAYER = ON

9. Select all 32 Teams

10. Go into Coaching Schemes

a. Coaching Schemes Suggestions

OFF = 50/50/100

DEF = 50/50

Under DEF Set to either 4-3 or 3-4 depending on roster depth and coach habits

11. Go to NFL.com http://www.nfl.com/

12. *if you have a laptop skip this step

a. Print out all 32 Teams Active Rosters as of 9/11/11

13. Go to Player Management

14. Use Printed Sheets to Delete Fake UFA Players

15. Go back to Player Management and Cut Players as follows

OFF= QB [2] RB [4] FB [1] WR [5-7] TE [2] LT [2] LG [2] C [2] RG [2] RT [2]

DEF= LE [2] RE [2] DT [3-4] LOLB [2] MLB [2] ROLB [2] CB [5-7] FS [2] SS [2]

*= K [1] P [1]

16. Go to Player Management and fix Player Pos as needed

17. ***DO NOT HIT AUTO REORDER ROSTERS***

change to

this will balance out the depth charts

18. Go to Player Management and select Team Captains

WHY? Cause these are the players at the coin toss u don't want benchers out there

I normally pick my favorite players for each team.

19. Go to Player management and do all the player edits you want 8)

all personal pref here.

NOTE:You can't edit "?"/rookies/fakes till after preseason :cry: :shock:

20. Depth Chart Time 8) Even out the Depth and balance the weight

a. ex(1)

LOLB Jerry 1st ROLB Harry 1st

LOLB Barry 2nd LOLB Barry 2nd

LOLB Terry 3rd LOLB Terry 3rd

why? = Cause now these 2 players will say 2nd String and 3rd String this is important

for simulation reasons and auto sub reasons [don't forget to set your auto subs

]

POS that need to be balanced [LT,LG,RG,RT,LE,RE,LOLB,ROLB]

21.Players needed to fill req. after UFA Fakes are Cut [if you released the correct fake ones you

will have these left over don't cut real rookies

***Make sure to sign only FAs below 59 OVR so it wont effect your depth changes you just made.***

HB= TEN

T= ARZ IND GB

G= SD IND ATL SF GB OAK STL NO

C= OAK NYG

DT= ARI SD DAL MIA GB BAL HOU

FS=GB

22. Next Save File as

NFLwk1.fra <-- Save to restart season

NFL.fra <---- Season to Play

"Your Team" ex. Patriots.fra <--- Your Team's Franchise

you will basically make a league template with changes as default

23. Now Sim the Pre-Season if you wish to do so but when Pre-Season is done do not forget

to edit the rookies

Print out a sheet of Rookies Names for a reference. Edit them if you wish.

Next Save File as

NFLwk1.fra <-- Save to restart season

NFL.fra <---- Season to Play

"Your Team" ex. Patriots.fra <--- Your Team's Franchise

24. Then simulate the season and look for any glitches bad stats etc.

If not move on to Pre-Season and test that as well.

If you have time Simulate the Season again on Year 2 now.

25. If there is no problems then load the file of your choice below

NFLwk1.fra <-- Save to restart season

NFL.fra <---- Season to Play

"Your Team" ex. Patriots.fra <--- Your Team's Franchise

Enjoy! You earned it probably take a good 7-15 hours or more :shock: if you really your picky , ocd , etc :P

I simmed some seasons and the stats were pretty good don't forget about coach schemes

INFO ADDED AFTER 1st POST

:PEdit all Players with Player Roles so the roles will be removed

some roles give - or + add/dis vantages to team's and players

once you edit a player even their equipment there roles are gone

so go through the list and edit who is left over

also make sure you've tested your sliders out before playing your chise

Important Traits to Change [Starters,SuperStars]

QB - Tight Spiral = Yes

HB - Fight for Extra Yards = Yes

WR - Drop Open Passes = No

DE,DL,OLB,MLB - Big Hitter = Yes (if applicable)

Traits to change for all SuperStars [90+ OVR]

Consistency=5

Confidence=5

Make sure the WR you want to get the most receptions is in the WR#1 slot
or the sim engine won't give your player enough RECs.
ex.
Wes Welker should be in Slot but for sim and chise you need him at #1

changing all teams to 60 under pass in the coaching schemes leads to better end of year stats

Go to Roster Breakdown then go to Active Players then click X/[] a couple times
and see if there is any off numbers

QB should say only 2 for all teams
only CBs and WRs will be an off number some with 5 up to 8

2. FIX Lag during Online Games

3. Less Features more gameplay

5. Improved Cut Days (NO FAKE PLAYERS PLEASE AND TY)

6. CREATE A PLAYBOOK that works

7. Keep the PGA Kick Meter (but make KACC affect the meter more)

8. Full Slider control separated from Difficulty

9. Fluid FPS (60 FPS all the time please,choppy presentation screens = fail )

10. Improved Audio (Go to Stadiums and record how loud it is )

11. Improve Blocking AI

12. Even More Tackling Animations

13. Increase AA and AF filtering

14. More Player Traits

15. Dynamic Weather (rain to clear to rain , snow to clear to snow)

16. Ability to change Depth Chart in Practice Mode in Franchise

17. Improve OnLine Franchise Drafting (Draft in 5minutes (Yes,No) Yes go to lobby draft starts in 5 mins like fantasy football site drafts)

18. Ability to Create a Blank spot in the Depth Chart

19. Use the abilities of the 360/ps3 it is console it can't handle things like a 560 would you need
to get rid of useless graphical stuff and concentrate on maintaining 60 FPS smooth

20. LB Jumping Ability seems to be a common complaint

21. Remove 3d Grass (It looks horrible the XBox can't handle such graphics, it appears in half the view but not the other half doesnt make it 3d then

22. Add ESPN Weekly Show (Berman please)

23. Improved Challenge Play System (ability to choose what you are challenging)

24. Add John Madden into a John Madden Game

25. Ditch the Soundtracks (Save the Money for development)

26. Ability to turn off ACC Clock in Franchise Mode

27. Improved Halftime Show (More Highlights , player interviews)

28. Timer when you press resume in Multiplayer

29. Bring back the X-Ray Injury Photos

30. Ability to have Practice Squads in Franchise Mode

31. Actually have Pass Interference called on both OFF and DEF

32. WR + CB Jostling Controls

33. Speed Threshold Defaulted to 0 (DT can't outrun WRs,Hbs etc....)

34. Ability to Save in Game

35. In Pro Bowl players wear their teams helmets

36. Remove Games Completed Penalty

Wow, I give you a ton of credit for taking the time to do this, and actually posting all the steps. I think most of these tips are already posted on the forum, but it's nice to have them all in one thread like you have done.

I may do this, but it's sooo much work. I'm worried that by the time I finish this I'll be burnt out on M12.

thanks yeah it took me probally 7-10 hours

but its worth it for OCD people like me

I mean I've done it for other games in the past, but I don't know if I can bring myself to fixing this game. I'm actually nervous because the more I get into this game, the more problems I see and experience. I've loved Madden since 96 but am considering trading this game in.

I'm still giving it a chance to be patched
