Why is it like this? Much rather have a normal 25 man. Especially online.

So, we'll have to sim through spring training before setting roster lineups and rotations, otherwise the game will reset everything itself when it switches back to 25 man rosters. Right?

Once you start a season it goes to 25.
They actually got this right.
Every team has a 40 man roster, granted only 25 can be in the bigs but the other 15 are protected.
It is a very big deal to be on a teams 40 man roster.
It also makes the spring training games alot more realistic on this game.
It is like real life spring training games where a team will play a ton of players.
