OS Lists: Your Top Three Hockey Games of All Time

I played so many hockey games, going all the way back to Ice Hockey on the Atari 2600, that I'd be hard-pressed to choose favorites. However...

International Hockey for the Commodore 64 was fun because I used to play it for hours with my dad...

NHL 94 for the Sega CD was awesome because it had all the goodness of regular '94, with some great audio treats...

But really, what comes close to NHL 10, 11, or 12? Nothing. I watched some footage of those old games, and others, while considering this post and, boy, have we come a long way.

1. NHL 09 (PS3) - Seemed a huge step up from 08 on the PS2 and the first time I took NHL gaming seriously by coming here and using sliders, had a great time with that game and from there I became a fan of the sport itself.
2. NHL 08 (PS2) - The first NHL game I played since 95, it got me back into NHL gaming.
3. NHL 95 (Gameboy) - First NHL game I ever played, at the time I enjoyed it.

NHL 2k10 - Played the heck out of it, edited goalies, just a great underrated game. Goal variety is unmatched.

NHL 2k8 - Hey, it's 2k8, what more can I say. Played in a few awesome Online Leagues (that actually finished!!!!!!) Stickhandling while skating, so much control, awesome. Franchise mode, unbelievablely deep.

NHL 2k5 - Played so much on PS2, first ever for my online leagues. Played in 3 leagues that went 3 or 4 seasons with the same 12 dudes. And my first time doing a Coop Franchise with a buddy. Wow is all I can say.

NHL 94 - Same as 2k8, hey, its NHL 94, whats not to like?

NHL 2k2 - Goalies with different play styles.....seriously? Thats awesome!

Hitz and Hitz Pro - Pure fun and anarchy....then pure fun and anarchy in a more sim setting.Ice Hockey - 3 medium, 1 fat.....I'll take anyone!

NHL Hockey (intellivision) - I owned it, I played it..........dam we've come a long way! And thankfully so.
