There's a new specific feature EA will be talking about soon that sort of speaks to what they mean about being just a coach or GM. I don't think that's been revealed yet so I'll omit it below, but here's what I think they (basically) mean when they talk about the elasticity of the mode:

GM -- you handle all trades, roster moves, scouting, contracts, etc. You automate strategies and systems, use the "best lines" feature, and let the AI play your games against human opponents or purely sim.

Coach -- you automate all the GM stuff above, set your lines, strategies and systems, deal with injuries and scratches, and let the AI play your games against human opponents or purely sim.

Player - you automate all the GM stuff, all the coaching stuff, and purely play your games. I guess you could position lock if you wanted to each game to sort of be a specific player, but I don't know whether you can do an actual BAP style thing.

Full Hands On - everything above and you play all your games as VS or OTP w/ friends.

These are just my educated guesses based on limited time w/ the mode, and could be entirely wrong, but make sense to me. I don't want to answer specific questions in this thread because I have no clue what the state of the embargo is on GM Connected. Maybe we'll find out more at E3.

this is what will make the online leagues tick. if a guy cant meet a deadline bc of work, vacation etc, then he can set it however he pleases and let the others play against his team online.

One thing I don't get really though is let's say you want to do "full hands on" so you DON'T "set your style' to one where you allow the AI to play your games (if that's even an option). Then you drop outta contact for a week or whatever -- what is the criteria for when your human opponents get to play the AI instead of you? Or do the games go unplayed until the commish advances, in which case the games would be simmed and the other human players could unfairly lose games they otherwise should have played?

Perhaps this is a league setting the commish decides on? Although it won't be an issue as long as all your human members are dedicated and responsible for their teams and games.

Wonder if any league will ever hit the 750 member max?

EDIT: Btw did you still want to join the league w/ Luc and everyone? When you didn't answer my tweet, I assumed that was a no, haha.

I think the difference is the Draft. You can't draft your own players in the online mode you have to rank them and then there is an autodraft. Offline you make your own picks like before.

And from reading this, both modes will be available for online and offline? A Coach mode type feature would be pretty cool also, I play Manage mode in the show and suprisingly its very addicting.
