Commission just announced that the October 15 Presidential Debate will be virtual.

But that's a small price to pay for basic safety.

Good. It's nuts to think that a candidate who is down is basically refusing to debate unless it's entirely on his terms.

I don't think Trump will sit it out. His camp will talk him into attending.

Hopefully the commission sticks to its guns.

His entire business career has been built on simply throwing tantrums until he gets what he wants. Which actually has not been that successful for him. But it's his go-to move.

How do you have a debate with or without Trump? If he doesn't participate, is it just an infomercial with the moderator asking Biden questions? Do you get a random Trump supporter off the street and have them debate Biden?

It was intended to be a Town Hall... so it just becomes a Town Hall with Biden. You have voters ask the questions, only Biden gets to respond.

It appears Trump now wants to change the dates of debate. This one a week later to Oct 22. That may assuage the Commission (it'd be after 14 days of when Trump got it). We'll see.

There were an estimated 50 million viewers last night. There were only 35 million in 2016 for the VP debate.

Turnout is going to be huge this year, even with the virus and the voter suppression tactics.

It looks like Biden agreed to push back the town hall one week.

Trump agreed, but insists on the third debate a week later.

Biden does not agree to the third debate that late.

So that's where they are.

Still think it would have been easier for Biden to just say he'd show up for the virtual debate.
