Is it just me, or is the "selling pardons for $2 million" thing more newsworthy than the Viagra thing?

Those tapes, man. If they are what she claims, oh boy.

Of course it is for most people but I'm sure not her. And no I don't want to hear the tapes of drunken Rudy wanting sex. But sign me up for the pardons for 2 million tapes though. |
The right is taking quite the victory lap on social media about the Durham report.
We truly live in 2 different realities. |

You're not kidding. Holy shit. It produced nothing but they're championing it as if it's a huge accomplishment and proof of crimes throughout the DOJ and Obama administration. |

CNN ratings are now lower than they were before the town hall. They are actually pulling less viewers than Newsmax, which isn't even on most providers plans. Who could have predicted such a stupid idea would backfire?
|
Quote:
They also really have lost a lot of their on air talent. I had started watching the morning show more with K.Collins, Lemon and Poppy but now mostly watch MSNBC Joe Scarborough if anything. The Trump townhall was a terrible idea. |
Quote:
I wonder how much wealth has been transfered to attorneys because of Trump's election fraud claims? |
Not nearly as much as has been transferred to Trump and his family.
|
Quote:
Oh no doubt. Just thinking about how many people were duped into this shit and have had to hire attorneys while Trump and a few others make millions from it. |
Quote:
I think they wanted a chunk of the right-wing audience so they decided to make a shift. That audience watches far more cable news. Problem is that you have to really go crazy to gain that audience. There is just no market for center-right cable news. |
Quote:
Yeah I think they thought they saw a hole in coverage they could jump into and profit off of. They could lean center right but do some center left coverage as well and pull the moderate viewers. The problem is there are center right voters but no center right politicians. The far right dominates GOP politics so they're the only people you can cover. The people that want to see far right politicians covered are just going to go to fox, Newsmax, ect. And then by airing Trump's townhall you've completely alienated all of the left. |
It's similar to when Democratic politicians run on the "I'm very very conservative, just slightly less conservative than my GOP opponent" platform. It never works. (NC Dems are famous for this, and that (and gerrymandering) is why they have absolutely no power).
|
They also lost the target audience about 5-6 years ago. CNN is a dirty word. I'm surprised over 3M of them even tuned in for the town hall.
|
The woman suing Giuliani did an interview on NY CBS and basically said she did it because not doing it would mean she lost access o the powerful.
Doesn't make Rudy any less despicable, but boy that's sad. |
Quote:
I mean they keep firing their best people. Cuomo and Lemon were two of the best news people I've ever seen. I really loved that onetwo punch at night and I'm a person that hates watching news. |
I cant believe the gays continue to assault the sanctity of marriage.
https://www.cbsnews.com/colorado/new...vorce-husband/ Good thing Colorado still has no fault divorce. |
Yeah so much for the sanctity of marriage. I guess "chasing God" wasn't enough for her to stay married.

yes conservatives will condem those that use em too |
The wife of the lead singer of The Village People sent Trump a cease and Desist letter. He can't use "Macho Man" anymore so I guess it's back to "I'm a little teapot"

absolutely monstrous.

jesus!

There's a quote halfway through that really sums it up: "The law has created torture."
Torture the Mother, the Father, the other children, the extended family, and even the child-who-will-only-live-99 minutes so that a bunch of folks can feel good about their "deeply held" (until their teenage daughter has an unplanned pregnancy) beliefs. This fucking country. |
I hate this timeline.

The list of new additions to Russia's sanctions is just a Trump enemies list. I mean what the hell did Raffensberger do to Putin?

Jean Carroll is suing trump for defamation based on defamatory comments he made about her after she successfully sued him for defamation.
GOP presidential hopefuls should take note. When you punch him in the face, it hits. His greatest superpower is making everyone else believe that he is untouchable. |

oh yes |
Jack Smith may not want to charge Trump over the documents case, but Trump is so stupid he may leave him no choice.
The news coming out about Trump having a Mar-a-lago staffer move documents to hide them from his attorney who was supposed to clear out any remaining documents is crazy. Also, the fact that they're now looking into Trump's finances to see if he tried leverage the docs for financial gain should be one of the biggest stories of our lifetime. |
DeSantis is apparently going to launch his campaign in conjunction with Elon musk. DeSantis is a very smart guy; I wonder if he is not so much running for president as laying the groundwork to become the next Tucker Carlson. He’ll make a lot more money and have a lot less stress.

Make America like Florida...great slogan...I'll pass thank you. |

Isn't that basically what we thought Trump was doing up until the point that he won? |
wait is Musk actually going to be Desantis' running mate? I keep seeing articles that are probably just written improperly but it made me think how funny that would be
|
Musk is South African, so no.
|
Quote:
lol what? he is? |
Quote:
He has zero personality. Listen to the guy talk to anyone who isn't lobbing softball questions his way. Say what you want about Tucker, but he's charismatic and knows how to talk to people. |
Quote:
and yet he is STILL more charismatic than trump who has negative charisma |
Negative charisma to those who don't like him, absolutely positive charisma to those who do. No one on the fence.
|
Yeah, I know people don't like Trump but it's hard to say he doesn't have charisma. Especially when graded against other politicians.
|
It's hard to take the politics and crimes out of it now, but I couldn't stand him years ago. But then, he was just an entitled smarmy POS that didn't matter to me. It still amazes me that anyone can listen to him and think he has some charm or intelligence.

Trump and/or his lawyers write a letter to Merrick Garland about how unfairly the Special Counsel is treating him and wants to meet with him to discuss it:
https://twitter.com/RonFilipkowski/s...78305171652608 (and probably try to blackmail/bribe him into dropping the case) |
They actually said in the memo he is being treated unfairly. It is unreal.
|
But...But....If I can't say negative thin gs about everyone, then I can't campaign...
|
It's election interference to prosecute criminals who happen to be running for office. Who knew?

Thank God for our democracy! :D I love that he's mad at the judge for scheduling the trial to begin during campaign season and he has to be there for it |
Quote:
I've said it before, but I'm still annoyed at his hastening the downfall of the USFL. (I never understood the appeal of The Apprentice, either.) |
Garland has replied to the letter, turning down the offer to meet because the Special Counsel is running the investigation

that show was sooooo bad. I was a huge reality show junkie. Especially anything with celebrities. And the intro/theme song was cool. But the show was just sooo bad. Everything he said was babbling. And posturing. ANd peacocking. He would ramble for 5 minutes then fire someone that he wasn't even talking about. Never made any sense. |
He was by far the worst part or the show. His decisions were completely arbitrary and often contradictory. He would fire someone for something one week and then reward someone for doing the same thing the next. He would pull his advisors off the show if they started getting too much press attention until he finally just got rid of them all together to use his children. He constantly showed how petty and narcissistic he is.

I was a junkie too. Watched I don't know how many seasons of The Apprentice when it was just regular off the street people playing. I think because it was a new type of "game show" The novelty of Survivor, Amazing Race, Big Brother, etc drew me in, but I eventually stop watching all of them. I will most definitely watch Apprentice: Federal Prison though where all the Proud Boys, Oathkeepers, far-righters behind his administration, etc, compete to stay alive and become Trump's #1 enforcer. :D |
Quote:
They refer to Biden as "President Biden." Interesting that they are making that concession. |
that's a threat if I've ever seen one

Doesn't Musk fail the natural born citizen, thus not eligible. |
Quote:
Well his maternal grandfather was apparently an American citizen, so shouldn't Musk's mother be a US citizen? And therefore Musk is a natural born citizen due to his mother? |
Quote:
This is probably the strongest indication we've seen that at least the Trump side feels an indictment is coming. They decided to try a hail mary to head it off. |
Quote:
think about it tho. it would be great entertainment. Musk goes in as desantis running mate then tries to get more press than desantis then starts saying things like abortion is good. THen ends up quitting that game and running alone as an independent |

Of all the corrupt pieces of shit out there, Ken Paxton may be the most corrupt.
The fact that his own party had to investigate him and has now found he likely committed multiple misdemeanors and felonies is crazy. This comes as he tries to use state funds to pay a $3 million settlement as a result of his corruption. https://apnews.com/article/texas-ken...%20retaliation. |

I’ve seen a lot of pro LGBTQA+ people mad at Target for caving to the anti-gay pressure. But the anti-gay crowd still seems to be boycotting Target. Wonder if Target managed to screw this up both ways. |
I went to Target today but didn't buy anything. Does that make me bi curious?
|
I will be shocked if Desantis makes it to Super Tuesday.
|
yeah, Trumps team is brilliant with this sort of stuff. I wonder if this makes Younkin jump in.
|
Quote:
I think they tried to have it both ways by announcing the reason they pulled the stuff was due to threats against their employees/stores, intimating they were still on the side of LGBTQA+ and that it was the anti-gay crowd that was threatening violence. But at the end of the day, it worked, right? |
Quote:
We'll see. As I recall, Hillary Clinton had a similar "insurmountable" lead in the polls against Barack Obama in May 2007. |
I wonder how Trump's upcoming criminal trial will shakes things up. Right now it's tentatively scheduled for Mar 24, 2024, which is a couple weeks after Super Tuesday.
Imagine if Trump wraps up the nomination by then and is convicted. DeSantis has to put that image into voter's heads if he wants to win. I'd like to think even most Republicans wouldn't want a convicted felon on top of the ticket going into the general election. I know you'll have your core Trumpers galvanized by how "unfair" the process was. But surely there are enough Republicans know that that won't play well to your typical fence-sitting voter. |
Quote:
The catch there is that Hilalry has always been consideered 'unlikable' by voters, and was going up against a candidate with much more obvious charisma. in DeSatnsis' case it's the guy who is already trailing by 30+ points that nobody likes. Donald Trump's legal status will be the real determining factor. |
Oath Keeper leader Stewart Rhodes gets 18 years. Less than I would have liked but the defense pleading for "time served" was just beyond ridiculous. So now Republicans please let us know when you have the whistleblowers, evidence and phone calls that shows Antifa/Black Lives Matter/Pelosi/Biden etc were behind it all. We're waiting..
|
Yeah, the defense team even remarked at how lenient they thought the sentence was. 18 years is a long time but well under the recommended amount.
Guessing it doesn't matter as the next Republican President will surely pardon him. |

Maybe cut back on the drugs a bit, junior.

Morbid thought--what would the Vegas odds be on Whether Don Sr. or Don Jr. dies first?
|
Senior is 76, but his Dad lived to 93. Junior's ~46. Can he last another 20 years with the amount of drugs he's doing?
Honestly, it's a tougher call than I would have thought. |
I hope its a push
