Yep. And apparently Gwinnett and Cobb have gone heavily for Biden this time (even Cobb!!) before all the mail in are counted.

Biden with a 10 point lead in NE CD2 with over 80% counted

Galaril 11-03-2020 11:25 PM

Also Senate looks lost to Rs so even if Biden is to win he won’t get anything done including court packing or even get Breyer to retire and put a young liberal on the SC. God Democrat’s are such a pointless party. Shit even with the country going less white I have little optimism since we have Mexican Americans at the Rio Grande voting for Trump among other groups that are voting against their own interests. I am also similar to people here in the north of $300K income and being white and straight if I was to vote for my own selfish interests Trump would be the way to go.

Dems need to do something about the pervasive disinformation that Dems=Socialism and Communism. It's that simple. They've got to get better at combating social media narratives, straight up. Not more radical.

Cant wait to hear how Bernie would have gotten even more crushed than Biden just like y'all said in 2016 begging us to vote for Hillary. We got behind your bullshit candidate both times. And in 2024 y'all will be asking and pleading for us to unite and back the candidate and talking about how socialism can't win...

Fuck off.

Dems are horrible at framing shit. "Defund the police" will never win. But neither will "play the middle" and vote the moderate. Y'all Doubled down on Trump hates M4A and lost bigly on that messaging. Get strategic.

Fire Tom Perez. Fire all the Dem establishment. Blow it up. AOC for Prez 2024. Fuckl if you say it cant work because clearly your best fucking lame ass centrist Biden can't either even with the entire party behind him.

I saw snippets of this debate, Graham, and McConnell and all of the Republicans performed miserably. And it didn't matter. Perdue sat there and took the soundbite moment from Ossoff and then sat back and watched the votes pour in.

Just wait for the older generations to die out. The US is still decades behind in terms of socioeconomic politics. Once millennials become the bulk of voters, it's over for the republicans.

I suppose one way to combat the Dem = socialism narrative is to just lean into it and put a socialist up. From the standpoint of name calling by the GOP and how voters view the candidate, Bernie and Biden are basically interchangeable.

Although I do wonder if Biden's age and the whole "proxy for the left wing" thing was a way more legit concern than Dems realized.

Arles 11-03-2020 11:38 PM

It looks like more and more that:
1. mail in ballots = more Democrats
2. Poll voting = more republicans

So, Biden could end up winning some of these states more convincingly after the mail in votes get counted.

Look, I will admit it, I voted Biden in a state that is really red. I voted for the D Governor, as well.

Exactly the way the GOP that controls the state wanted it. They couldn't even begin processing the votes before election day (something just about every other state allows even if counting doesn't begin until election day). PA is going to take a few days.

larrymcg421 11-03-2020 11:49 PM

Ossoff isn't done yet. His numbers are only slightly behind Biden's and Perdue would need 50% to avoid a runoff.

It was rigged. Both times. Definitely in 2016 and likely in 2020 when Buttigieg and Klobuchar conspired to endorse Biden after Clyrburn's South Carolina deal which was his first, desperate and honestly, pathetic win. They both dropped out and it was over from there. People WANT a MOVEMENT not a CANDIDATE. Trump is a MOVEMENT. BIDEN is a CANDIDATE. AOC is a MOVEMENT. Bernie is a MOVEMENT.

I know you think you're fucking wise and smart but you're 0-2 the past 8 years and even if you're right next time I'm not buying in.

Good luck trying to get that messaging across. Ill vote Trump 2024 over you fucking telling me to vote your stupid ass moderate establishment DNC candidate.

Maybe this is the reckoning we all need. If we survive 4 more years of this.

Not sure the exact order they count.

Biden did stretch Hillary’s margin of victory in Dane County (Madison).

It’s going to be close. Milwaukee turnout wasn’t as high as they hoped.

Man, I saw a Trump win coming. Same thing as 2016. No one thought the rural voters would come out and the suburbs would be slightly ahead for dems and the cities would be the difference.

But here comes the rural voters again.

Biden wins the majority. Trump wins the electoral Again, GOP wins the right places.

I am going to bed feeling better than 2016, but still amazed that there are this many people out there who really think he's worthy? It is feeling a lot like 30s Germany in here before the election. If trump wins again it might inch further down that path.

I mean, as someone who doesn't care for Bernie, I would absolutely get behind him and/or any other progressive. Hell, I look forward to voting for AOC at some point, because her brand of progressivism doesn't completely discount pragmatism, which is a big issue for me in a Presidential candidate (also why I supported Warren).

Get bent and get drunk. I would if I was you. Because your next job is probably coming in 2-4 years Pilot Boy. Literally if it wasn't for a bailout and a stimulus bill that ran out you probably wouldn't even be weighing in on today if we'd done this correctly.

Hyberbole statement. Would obviously never vote for Trump. The point being made is that the current DNC candidate selection process is clearly not working/flawed/not jiving with voters who MATTER (aka YOUNG minority voters). So maybe, just maybe, it is high time y'all coalesce behind the the "left" candidate. Let's try it. Maybe you'll like it.

Sleep sweet.

You should seriously log off and calm down man.

Cant wait to see you whining here like you usually do about your job and how hard the airline industry is for pilots and begging for federal money to bail your ass out for the 3rd time in 10 years so you have a job.

But socialism bad. Unless it helps you out. Fuck off.

And you want to be the spokesman for the party? No wonder you can't beat anyone. You couldn't think your way out of a paper bag. I love how you're cherry picking here. It's almost like.. wait no, sorry, you're completely fucking clueless. Make up whatever shit fits your narrative. Go back to the armchair and keep screaming about how much you fucking care. You ain't done shit. Walk on man. You're fucking pathetic.

molson 11-04-2020 12:38 AM

There's a portion of Sanders' base that hate other Dems more than Trump. That's who gets the backlash. It's very telling. They cost people elections

When pilotman is the target of your edgy liberal rage than you're just confused. Look back at the shit you're saying to people when you sober up.

Mate, that is literally the most pathetic, non-substanstive response possible. Lot of words and bluster but nothing substantial. Are you sober? Who is the drunk one here?

Unfortunately tomorrow you'll still be unemployed because the candidate you supported couldn't beat the worst candidate in American history who gives no fucks about you and is destroying your industry and refusing to help you out. For the record I am on your side. I think you deserve help. That is the point here. But y'all keep voting against your own self interest. You'll get it eventually. Or you won't. We can only do so much, us socialist.

On the NYT board, 91% of Georgia now counted. It's gone down to Trump +3 and the Needle has gone up to 64% Biden. Fulton County is going to count mail ballots in the morning (they've gone home for the night).

And Lucy McBath (D) in the 6th District holds her seat she won in an upset in 2018.

Absolutely this. Living in a progressive bubble with no understanding that they aren't getting cheated at every turn, but that not even even most registered democrats have moved far enough left yet. I think Biden is a shit candidate and if it wasn't for Trump I'm not sure I'd vote for him, but trump exists, so that's the very easy and obvious reality to get behind Biden and be happy for the possibility of some sort of return to normalcy, even though normalcy is still terrible for millions of Americans who would benefit from Social Democracy. But we are here now, and we have to work with what we can to advocate. People like BillyMadison really hurt that in an active way. It's too bad.

Nice gem I found from the 2008 election night:

That's just it. You think you have the answers, but you don't know Jack fucking shit. Which is, I guess, where you fall. I can't fault you that badly. I guess you really are your namesake after all. Take another shot. That brain cell will die eventually.

Swaggs 11-04-2020 12:52 AM

It seems like Georgia may be more promising than Wisconsin.

I actually love Joe Biden. Like, I love the guy. Empathetic, true, honest. A good person. So in my mind, a good candidate. And maybe you're right! Maybe no Dem candidate could compete with the worst incumbent Presidential candidate in American history alongside a pandemic and a sinking economy and rampant racism and an FBI blowing warning signals that white supremacy (which said candidate endorses) is the biggest national security threat.

But it's the activist Dems that are trouble and are sinking things.

Here's a question: will you get behind new DNC leadership going forward? What does that look like for you? What are your limits? What do you think wins in 2024—if, and even IF we have the opportunity to vote again—and please don't say a moderate that can win republican voters...? Is that too much to ask?

stevew 11-04-2020 12:54 AM

well the senate looks to be a big fucking loss.

bhlloy 11-04-2020 12:55 AM

Senate is gone (MT just about a formality to be called in the next 30 mins)... but feels like maybe if all votes are counted then Biden is still just about the favorite for president? Definitely a weird night, and can't wait for the lawsuits to start tomorrow.

Izulde 11-04-2020 12:55 AM

Cautiously optimistic on WI. 169,000 Milwaukee mail in votes not yet counted.

bhlloy 11-04-2020 01:06 AM

Always fun to add another to the ol' ignore list. So much anger and so little vocabulary.

Not surprising. There is a racist element in the far left, only furthered by minority rejection of Sanders in 16 and 20.
