We kind of thought of him as a washed-up reality show celebrity and fading businessman until the GOP decided he was their literal God. I think the latter happened first. In his rise to power we were all fooled into thinking he was a harmless amusement. |
He openly and without shame spoke to the hate that was in the heart of America. He is the physical manifestation of a dark rot in our soul.

We moved back to Jersey 2.5 years ago. We promised our kids we wouldn't move again, my son had already moved 3 times by age 8, unless we had to. About a year ago my wife was offered a role with her company in England. Would have been about a 3 year assignment and we would have been able to live in the same town as her sister who she is very close to. We told the kids we would keep our house here and just move back. They were having nothing of it and since we promised them we wouldn't move here we are still. |
They are not just attacking the voting system at the state level, they are hitting the local boards as well. They are removing bi-partisan boards with Republican political appointees. Georgia bills would replace bipartisan county election boards

Today I'm going up to a local donut place that is fricking amazing to support them after they were mobbed by a bunch of antimaskers and an idiot state rep.
West Chester's Holtman's Donuts, Rep. Jennifer Gross Continue to Battle over Weekend Incident The cops came and threw them out then they lied about it. That's the circle of republican life... |

it's okay tho, they make everything including fillings and toppings from scratch |

I actually got into a brief "discussion" on the companies post about the incident with a Trumper. He tells me to mind my own business since I don't have a dog in the fight. Then he goes on this big rant about the freedoms we enjoy as Americans and not letting them be taken away. Irony is thick with some of these idiots. |
Those are some good looking donuts.
|
Quote:
Look at the one at the upper right. it's a peanut butter and jelly donut. strawberry jelly in the middle, peanut butter frosting. it's so good i want to cry When I went there today i noticed they had several signs. one: no mask no donuts two: No more than 10 people inside please! :) |
pilotman...they have a holtman's over the rhine/downtown
|
Good donuts. I miss Graeters also, could go for some black raspberry chip.

They are not even trying to hide it:
|
I'll take one each of those donuts please :)

That icing look like the kind that makes your teeth hurt.
I’m jealous. |

That IS the one I was looking at. All the other donuts look good too, but that big rope of peanut butter frosting is pretty remarkable! |

Saw that on Reddit, too I mean, if it weren't so scary, I mean it'd be stupid how much these guys are champions of losing causes. SI |

not at alL! It's soooo smooth! Not oversweet! yet like a super creamy peanut butter. not sure how they did that |
Kristi Noem using CPAC to try and take a victory lap about her states dreadful Covid response really illustrates the disconnect the right has with facts and science.
|
No surprise that Trump ran away with the CPAC straw poll. De Santis was the clear second, and if I know Trump, he's going to get kneecapped before long just in case.
Amazing how the GOP is just going to give the nomination to a guy that cost them the House, Senate, and WH. |
A Fox News head said the "dream ticket" in 2024 is Desantis-Noem. I say that might be the dream Democratic match-up.

If a trump supporter were a donut, what would it be...

Nothin" but ... a hole? |

I think I read it the opposite way. The fact that Trump has only 66% of the support in that room is pretty telling about loss of support. Imagine if 33% of Chiefs fans think Chad Henne should start over Patrick Mahomes next season. |
And yet peddling bullshit stolen election conspiracy theories for coming up on 6 months and embracing the insanity of QAnon by some in your rank and file is totally acceptable. The party of irony is thriving. |

My coworkers apparently shared the next stupid thing in a group text today.
Gotta plant the seeds for when Trump's not ruling the US with an iron fist on March 4th. So once this week comes and goes and Trump is still not inaugurated President and he doesn't magically swoop in, hold a farce trial, and execute Biden, Harris, et al (because apparently that's the current shadow government conspiracy theory thing), they need something else to hang their hat on. Apparently, Trump is going to run for Congress in Florida, become the Speaker of the House and then impeach Biden and Harris. Then he can finish out their term as President since he's 3rd in line, and run for President again in 2024. Fan fiction is fun? SI |
I read a thing once where someone pointed out the fewest number of people you would need to make anyone President.
The House can choose its Speaker--and the Speaker does not have to be a member of the House. So, if the President, VP, and 218 House members are on board, you could have 218 members choose anyone as speaker, and then the President and VP resign. Then that person becomes President. So, 220 people have the power to make any eligible person president at any given time. |

OK, I ran this one through a book title generator online, and came up with: Tom Clancy's Secrets of Suspicion. I know Clancy has been dead for a while but I still feel he can deliver this in time for the summer beach book season. |

Were they sharing this as "look at what these idiots believe" or as "this is what is REALLY going to happen?" either way wildly inappropriate for a work text. |

Sadly, you know the answer to the question. I tend to use this to describe my work situation: if 0 is conservative and 10 is liberal, the rest of my team adds up to me. And it's not because I'm a 10, it's because there's are a lot of 0s and 1s on my team. SI |

Tim Allen getting savaged on Twitter right now. I knew he had some trouble with drugs in the past. I had no idea he had a pound and a half of coke and would have done life in prison had he note been a snitch. He ended up serving 2.5 years. Amazing he was ever in a Disney movie.

Why is he only now getting savaged for that? I'm also surprised that Mark Wahlberg still has a career given his past crime. |
State Department aide appointed by Trump stormed the Capitol, beat police with a riot shield, FBI says
By Katie Shepherd and John Hudson https://www.washingtonpost.com/natio...-capitol-riot/ This is one Hell of a story. I also liked how after trying to overthrow the government he went back to work at the State Department until Biden's inauguration.... Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk |
Any number of threads this could go in, but the Trump thread seems the most appropriate.
