Good. Stop the norm busting.

To quote... "Well, that's the way he wants it, well he gets it"

Lindsey Graham did warn about this back in 2016, before falling in line with the rest of the cucks.

They aren't worried about norms, though. They are worried about pissing off Trump.

thesloppy 12-15-2020 04:29 PM

I will be interested to see if all the obsequiousness going to turn off immediately like a tap once he has no Presidential powers.

ISiddiqui 12-15-2020 04:30 PM

Probably not as he still has his flock, who are going to looking to primary anyone who isn't towing the Trump line.

sterlingice 12-15-2020 04:33 PM

I still think that the best thing for us as a country is for him to shuffle off this mortal coil as soon as possible.

So Trump retweeted this. At what point does someone put a stop to the lunacy. every single member of government supporting this needs to be removed.

Butter 12-15-2020 07:59 PM

Just like Hillary is in jail, right?

albionmoonlight 12-15-2020 08:08 PM

Sydney Powell is just lying to the Supreme Court now. She claims that the legislatures of Georgia, etc. all certified an alternate slate of GOP electors. Of course, this is bullshit. All of these idiots cosplaying as electors were not certified by a state legislature.

She will suffer no consequence for this because no court will want to look "political" by sanctioning her.

I note it here only because if I lied that thoroughly to a court I would almost certainly be sanctioned and probably fired.

Other lawyers in this thread: What do you think would happen to you?

The key, I guess, is to be so high profile that it becomes more trouble to sanction you than to just let you spin out your lies.

Good work, if you can get it!

GrantDawg 12-15-2020 08:24 PM

The City of Detroit lawyer has filed to have her sanctioned. Hope the get her disbarred.

BYU 14 12-15-2020 08:26 PM

I don't get it though, she is obviously no special talent with all this bullshit. Isn't this getting to a point where she can be disbarred?

albionmoonlight 12-15-2020 08:35 PM

Apparently Trump may not be able to live legally at Mar-a-Lago:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifes...781_story.html

And this isn't something that's going to go away. His rich NIMBY neighbors want nothing to do with the Trump shitshow. They are not going to go away quietly.

Lathum 12-15-2020 08:45 PM

Behind a pay wall. Cliffs notes?

albionmoonlight 12-15-2020 08:49 PM

Basically, back in the 90s, he signed some agreement with the town that he would operate Mar-a-Lago as a club and not as a hotel or residence.

And the town hasn't really enforced that.

But, now that it is clear that it's gonna be a four-year circus coming to town, the other residents have formally asked the town to enforce the contract and prevent Trump from living there.

Lathum 12-15-2020 08:56 PM

Thats awesome

wustin 12-16-2020 09:29 AM

Sending out your goons to undermine and takeover the voting process is literally how dictators get elected. What's next enforce the military to scare off the certified electors?

CrimsonFox 12-16-2020 09:54 AM

yeah you can only stay at the place for 21 days max....that's ANYbody

all because he wanted loopholes so that the gov could give money to it

All it takes is one state, though. Then you have to report it to the other states you have a license in, and they will almost certainly have to do something. It's like insurance agent/company or doctor licensing - it becomes a snowball once you get fined/suspended in one state.

Dr. Jill Biden not being a doctor is an odd 2024 platform for the GOP.

Watching the republican party eat itself from within is going to be fun for the next 4 years.

pretty on brand. They don't like women let alone well educated women. If it was up to them only white, land owners would vote.

No it won't. We said the same thing in the 4 years up to Trump and all it got us was a further right GOP with more crazies willing to be crazy in public.

I don't think so at all.

I'm not saying it plays to the general population any better than Trump's "suburban housewives" crap did, but this is just more of the war against intelligence, with the bonus of being misogynistic - which these people eat up. I mean, who hasn't heard of people who hold advanced degrees that are not strictly medical being called "doctor?" This isn't something new. But being a doctor makes you an "elite" and an easy take-down for the Trump rubes. Plus, as a woman she should have majored in cooking and cleaning, ya know!

albionmoonlight 12-17-2020 10:08 AM

Yeah, this is pretty much right down the middle for them.

Anti-woman.
Anti-education.

It managed to turn out more votes than ever for the GOP.
It also managed to turn out more votes than ever against the GOP.

Atocep 12-17-2020 11:30 AM

The depth and nuance of Trumper thinking is:

You're only a doctor if you perform surgery. You're only a scientist if you work in a lab.

They're going to unite in full on resistance of Biden with things like railing on anything he does, re-discovering how SUPER IMPORTANT the deficit is, and denying any of his appointees. There's more that keeps them together than apart. Unfortunately, the ratio between the carnival barkers and true believers is getting dangerously bottom heavy and I think those in the former category know it could spell danger for them eventually. But power is more important and they can solve that problem another day.

albionmoonlight 12-17-2020 12:59 PM

Yup. It is fun to do the whole "McConnell is the real enemy" bit when there are no stakes.

But when push comes to shove, the GOP voters, supporters, and politicians fall in line.

NobodyHere 12-17-2020 04:22 PM

Win a chance to blow up one of Trump's casinos!

City to auction spot to push demolish button on Trump casino

I think this is a really creative idea and I hope they raise a lot of money.

albionmoonlight 12-17-2020 06:47 PM

So some of the conspiracy theorists are starting to claim that Biden/Harris will be sworn in on the 20th. And that is actually all according to the plan. Because they have to be sworn in to formally steal the election. So Trump/Q will let them get sworn in so that they can then be prosecuted for election theft.

And 4 years from now it will be that they have to complete their term for it to officially be a stolen Presidency.

Two former AZ Bar presidents and a few other attorneys have formally filed ethics complaints against 21 attorneys who participated in the Trump campaign lawsuits in AZ. We'll see what happens with that.

Ksyrup 12-19-2020 08:25 AM

I didn't pay attention to election law before this year, so I was not familiar with Lin Wood or Sydney Powell. However, early on I kept reading about how they were respected lawyers and there must be something to these allegations for them to take on this case. Then, you know, we watched everything unfold over the past 6 weeks.

I say that to point out that Lin Wood has filed another election-related lawsuit - this time as both the attorney and plaintiff - in which he signs the pleading verification that the facts are true and correct under "plenty of perjury" (rather than under penalty of perjury).

If this is performance art, he has surpassed the Spinal Tap/Best in Show team as greatest in history.

BYU 14 12-19-2020 08:33 AM

Ksyrup, after the Kraken fell short I think you just gave them their next rallying cry.

Judge: "And just what is different about these lawsuits Mr. Wood?"

Lin Wood: "These go to 11."

Apparently, there are some of the Q/MAGA people posting about the inevitable declaration of martial law, but from a personal planning perspective.

Like, people are starting to ask about when it is going to happen because they have a trip to Disney planned for the first week of January and they are wondering how it might affect their travel.

I wanna shoot my neighbor for Trump, but maybe after the holidays, ok?

JPhillips 12-19-2020 10:08 AM

Reminds me of the voice mail I once gt threatening to kick my ass over a student's grade. But they also made sure to let me know it would only happen after the summer when the Fall semester started.

JPhillips 12-19-2020 10:11 AM

dola

Saw a WaPo story that says out of the 200+ mil Trump has raised since the election less than a million has gone to the recount fund.

Everything's still a con.

Lathum 12-19-2020 10:13 AM

Wasn't the big reckoning supposed to happen by the 18th?

Every one of them should be disbarred and stand trial for treason.

JPhillips 12-19-2020 11:57 AM

Trump is mulling appointing Sydney Powell as a special counsel for the election.

Ksyrup 12-19-2020 12:27 PM

Meanwhile, I still see smoke on Twitter about McConnell's race and the conspiracy that his and other GOP Senate races were rigged because they were run through voting machines owned by a GOP-controlled company. How does one fail to see that this is the exact same conspiracy-by-extrapolating-numbers-out-of-context BS that the GOP says should invalidate Biden's win? I mean, if they are right, why wouldn't it make sense to question Biden's win? This is an argument for competing frauds by voting system.

I don't know if it's helpful to make such leaps in judgment when there are other explanations. Several obvious things to me being:

(1) KY is a closed primary state, so if you want to vote in a primary, you have to declare one or the other party. I am registered GOP and voted mostly Dem in this election. If there are a bunch of people like me in my county, does that make my county's votes look suspicious? Probably. I think there's too much of an assumption that people would automatically vote straight ticket and that McConnell getting Dem votes is unlikely. I doubt that premise.

(2) McConnell is unpopular but an incumbent. That counts for a lot.

(3) Amy McGrath was not an energizing candidate. I could easily see people being anti-Trump but not voting for McGrath. I have to imagine that many rural area Democrats are still pretty conservative, so the idea of a split government might be appealing. And, having a Senator from KY in a high profile position is preferable to Rand Paul and a freshman Senator.
