Twitter is turning off commenting and liking on his posts that mention the election. He’s got to be out of his mind.

albionmoonlight 12-12-2020 08:25 AM

So, the two big dates left are the EC voting on Monday and Congress accepting the results on Jan. 6th.

There are a lot of MAGA House members who would be fine having a vote on accepting the results. They would lose, of course. But they would be happy to fight.

But, apparently, you need an objection from a House member AND a Senator to even get a vote. And I don't think that McConnell wants his members having to go on record with a vote. They don't get the benefit of gerrymandered districts when they run for reelection.

So my guess is that McConnell is happy for all of the norm-busting that Trump has done, but he's ready for it to end.

And I've always felt that McConnell is pulling Trump's strings more than people realize (A very smart puppetmaster with a very stupid puppet).

So I think that McConnell will backchannel to the WH that it is time for Trump to acknowledge that Biden will be President, while continuing to deny his legitimacy. And he'll make Trump think that it is all his idea.

albionmoonlight 12-12-2020 08:26 AM

dola--so number 3 above, with more whining--like Edward said.

They turned it back on. This morning you couldn't like or comment on his tweets.

cartman 12-12-2020 09:38 AM

So apparently the leader of the Proud Boys was invited to a meeting at the White House this morning

albionmoonlight 12-12-2020 09:46 AM

On the one hand, how disgusting.

On the other hand, it's not McConnel or Graham or Bill Barr. When the Proud Boys are the only people left returning your calls, you really need to take the hint.

Qwikshot 12-12-2020 10:08 AM

This is a stupid deranged unhinged man who knows the moment he's out of office he's in danger to criminal and financial investigations.

He's going to fight using all resources to control the government (he had 125 stupid assholes join him in his Supreme Court gambit, they should all be removed from office).

His followers are going to be more deranged and dangerous as he escalates further.

The run-offs have to go blue or this will get much worse.

Ksyrup 12-12-2020 11:37 AM

They do what now?

Comey 12-12-2020 02:13 PM

....him?

bhlloy 12-12-2020 02:23 PM

I think they called the guy from the John Lennon conspiracy theory by mistake

Ksyrup 12-12-2020 04:12 PM

He looks like a Red Skelton impersonator.

Ksyrup 12-12-2020 04:44 PM

And another...

It's the glasses. But closer to Lennon than JFK Jr.

In case there was any question about their racist foundations, the Proud Boys are going around D.C. tearing down and burning BLM banners, some of them from churches.

albionmoonlight 12-12-2020 09:39 PM

No one questioned that that the Proud Boys are racist. I don't even think they deny it.

You can be anti-BLM w/o being racist.

Yes, but you can't be a Proud Boy without being racist.

Don't see those armored tanks and tear gas for these right wing riots tonight. Strange how that works.

It wasn't the white time to use teargas and tanks.

I wonder how many people caught covid in these protests/riots and counter-protests.

albionmoonlight 12-13-2020 10:42 AM

An understated, I think, part of all this is how Biden is just not reacting to anything.

Trump needs chaos. He needs the fight to keep going. He gains power when you fight back. It's the classic "when you mud wrestle a pig, you both get dirty, but the pig enjoys it." Biden isn't getting down into the dirt with him.

GrantDawg 12-13-2020 10:43 AM

I imagine some, Nobody. Being outside helps cut it down, and the masked groups help as well. Probably less than a large group in a small area with no mask, but more than none.

Ben needs to add a new poll option:

GrantDawg 12-13-2020 01:08 PM

That's an opinion of a non-trumpian lawyer, btw. Not someone fron his team, or even sources from his people. Not saying it is wrong, just that it is a guess.

Lathum 12-13-2020 01:10 PM

If Trump tried that I believe he would be breaking the law.

I get Biden not going after Trump for the things Trump did in office, although I think he should, but if Trump attempts to govern once Biden takes over that absolutely would have to be stomped out.

Oh yeah, that isn't the campaign. That's just a guess.

I think that Trump won't do that. He will be President-In-Exile-and-God-Emperor-Trump. But I don't think he'll have a fake oath of office administered.

He has to walk up to the line where he looks strong but not stupid to his supporters.

Shit posting on Twitter about how much better he'd be as president and pointing out that he should be president is one thing. Actually having, like, fake presidential seals made and stuff is another.

GrantDawg 12-13-2020 02:06 PM

Trump says no judge has ruled on evidence. He is wrong. Judge Ludwig, who Trump appointed just months ago, said the President had standing in his court. He then ruled against him pretty harshly based on merit.

I think "he fights the result all the way to January 20th. Has to be physically removed." and he stages as a patriotic act to his supporters. I think he then keeps traveling the country claiming he won and is the legitimate president to his base doing interviews and trying to stay in the media focus. He will set up shop in some place like Mel Largo and declare he is the rightful president as a modern day Jefferson Davis. I could see right wing domestic terrorist carrying out bombings and the like in his name too. The question and am not sure what happens is what will the federal government do in this sceanrio.

The days between tomorrow's EC vote and 1/20 could be quite problematic with Trump directing any federal response to violence/riots and pressuring red-state politicians to take it easy on the "patriots."

PilotMan 12-13-2020 09:21 PM

trump has given some insights into his plan going forward. He will call Biden the illegitimate President and everything that he says will go from there. I'm not sure he'll go so far as to take an oath of office separate, but he's dangerously close to criminal behavior. I think he's too stupid to keep from crossing the line after Jan 20th as well. He is already fueling the flames for people who have little reservation about killing in the name of trump. It's coming. I hope when that happens, and he's not the president, that he's arrested and charged.

Parler and Qanon folks losing their shit over the google outage

Ksyrup 12-14-2020 08:22 AM

I just saw a CBS poll that 48% of Republicans say Trump should not concede and should do whatever it takes to remain in office. The only thing that will keep us from an outbreak of numerous mass casualty incidents is the hope that, like those of us sitting at our computer while Trump does things we never thought he'd do instead of taking to the streets, the vast majority of these MAGA pu$$ies do nothing but cry to each other on social media after Biden takes over, and eventually things go back to some sort of normal.

There will still be threats and a few violent incidents, but I'm hoping the complacency of Americans and not wanting to upend pretty decent personal situations will keep most of the possible action from actually happening.

Ksyrup 12-14-2020 09:27 AM

Part of me wanted to think that Miller was just lying.
