Seems like there is no good reason for Nevada to still not be projected to Biden, aside from fearing a Trump temper tantrum.

Atocep 11-05-2020 03:41 PM

If there's any doubt to what the GOP internally thinks is going to happen Don Jr's Twitter meltdown should say everything. They know he's going to lose when all votes are counted and are desperately trying to create a scandal to get counting stopped.

Some have speculated that the premature AZ call by FoxNews and AP is the hold up.

If they call NV to Biden, then they are calling the election to him, even though AZ should not have been called.

And even if they don't call NV, you could have some people Frankensteining the calls to say that the "media has called it for Biden."

Nate Silver was talking about this. Fox News and AP might be reluctant to call Nevada because they might be regretting their AZ call. If they call NV, then they're calling the election, which they might not want to do if there's still doubt in AZ. But at the same time, they don't want to retract AZ if it ends up being correct.

Edit: or what albion said.

albionmoonlight 11-05-2020 03:44 PM

I know that both campaigns have tons of observers watching the counting.

Can they see the vote totals that haven't been released? Like, are they allowed to text unofficial numbers to their campaigns?

If so, that would give me more faith in the Dem confidence and the GOP meltdowns.

They're all so crazy. Giving the "if you have nothing to hide, why not be completely transparent" schtick is rich coming from anyone named Trump.

I also see he retweeted Senator Hawley (R-MO) saying he is going to introduce a bill to set federal standards for voting. What a great idea that would be - wonder why no one has mentioned it over the last few years.

JPhillips 11-05-2020 03:48 PM

Well, that was fun and peaceful.

Now back to our regularly scheduled Dems attacking each other programming.

So they don't feel like states should control their own elections now?

Atocep 11-05-2020 03:57 PM

PA at 90k and Georgia under 10k now.

Vote totals for Kanye.

Quote:

As of 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, he had 4,040 votes in Arkansas; 6,210 in Colorado; 3,631 in Idaho; 3,197 in Iowa; 6,259 in Kentucky; 4,894 in Louisiana; 7,783 in Minnesota; 3,171 in Mississippi; 5,590 in Oklahoma; 10,216 in Tennessee; 4,344 in Utah; and 1,264 in Vermont.

ISiddiqui 11-05-2020 04:08 PM

CNN is showing that Philly has 86% in and notes that when all the votes were counted Clinton had 580k votes from Philly in 2016. Biden right now has ~480k votes from Philly right now... and he's been out gaining her across the state.

Nikki Haley is eulogizing Trump to prep for '24

Nikki Haley
@NikkiHaley
We all owe
@realDonaldTrump for his leadership of conservative victories for Senate, House, & state legislatures. He and the American people deserve transparency & fairness as the votes are counted. The law must be followed. We have to keep the faith that the truth will prevail.

molson 11-05-2020 04:12 PM

I wish Kanye was on the Georgia ballot so we could speculate as to whether his presence changed the outcome

larrymcg421 11-05-2020 04:14 PM

Howie Hawkins not making the GA ballot might be decisive in the outcome.

Sounds like big government socialism to me.

sabotai 11-05-2020 04:16 PM

In the two Philly suburbs that are pretty much done counting (at 95%), Biden was +5 vs. Clinton in 2016 in Montgomery County and Chester County. In the other two Philly suburbs, Delaware County is 85% reporting and he's +2 there and Bucks County is 91% reporting and Biden is +3 there.

What's interesting is at 86% reporting, Biden is -2 vs. Clinton so far in Philadelphia. He'll gain, obviously, as mail ins are counted, but it's interesting that Biden might slightly do worse than Clinton in the city, but do so well compared to her in the suburbs.

(The 2016 website if giving my decimals and the 2020 map is not, so a bit of rounding there)

In leopards ate my face news: The Trump Sons Speak Out

Quote:

President Trump’s sons are apparently upset that Republicans are not doing enough to help their father as the vote count proceeds.

Donald Trump Jr.: “The total lack of action from virtually all of the ‘2024 GOP hopefuls’ is pretty amazing. They have a perfect platform to show that they’re willing & able to fight but they will cower to the media mob instead. ”

Eric Trump: “Where is the GOP?! Our voters will never forget…“

I’m not sure who ends up burned worse between the Trumps getting in bed with the GOP establishment or the GOP for fully embracing Trumpism. We have all been considering who replaces Trump in 2024 (win or lose) between Haley, Rick Scott, Cotton, Desantis, Hawley, or Don Jr. (or Eric or Ivanka).

What the hell is the 2024 GOP primary going to look like if Donald Sr. has to go back through the primary process again?

Butter 11-05-2020 04:25 PM

PA has 326k left to tally, 120k in Allegheny and Philadelphia Counties, where the counts have been stopped due to legal issues (Allegheny) and Trump shenanigans (Philadelphia). 5:30 PM hearing on "observer access issues" in Philly county.

I think we see a lot of resignations from people claiming the way he handled this election was the final straw.

He received 60K overall. Considering the razor thin margins now, fair chance he would impact it and assume by taking it away from Biden.

But Jo Jorgensen has 60,800 votes in GA. My guess is majority of her supporters (who vote if she was not on the ballot) would have gone for Biden so if Biden loses GA, it's on her.

But don't misunderstand me, I support the right to vote third party even though it may be a "wasted vote".

Not a chance. The vast majority of Jorgensen supporters are likely to be Republicans who just couldn't vote for Trump but would never vote for a Democrat.

ISiddiqui 11-05-2020 04:45 PM

CNN saying Biden has been getting 78% of all votes counted today in Pennsylvania. They said if he gets 70% of what is left, he wins by 40k.

Not "vast" but your point is taken. Thanks for the correction.

When asked who they would support if they had to choose between Biden and Trump, Jorgensen and Hawkins voters are roughly split: 54% say they would lean toward Trump, while 42% say they would lean toward Biden.

Edward64 11-05-2020 04:53 PM

CNN Jake Tapper has used "Trump and his offsprings" and once "Trump and his offsprings ... spawns".

What an ass, just say "family members" or name them.

I truly hope that if Biden wins that CNN reverts nearer to the middle (and also Morning Joe).

That's for the whole country. I would argue Georgia Libertarians trend more Republican - the current Libertarian candidate for US Senate is a former Republican (ran for House District 7 and lost in the primary). And remember Bob Barr.

ISiddiqui 11-05-2020 04:57 PM

Drip, drip, drip... 78k lead in PA with 93% counted.

Lathum 11-05-2020 05:00 PM

kingfc22 11-05-2020 05:00 PM

So 78,314 down in PA now.

326K votes left to count supposedly.

Biden needs about 62%+ or more of what is left

kingfc22 11-05-2020 05:02 PM

WI and GA are both going to be recounts. We can book that.

The quote isn't that bad taken in context.

They think Philly election official are in contempt, so they are looking for help there.

All BS I'm sure, but there is more context there.

molson 11-05-2020 05:08 PM

I know this is shocking but PA said it will take them longer than expected to finish their count (they previously said they'd be done today).

And the last big update came from (my best guess) Cumberland County, a red county that just went from 77% counted to 95% counted.

And I'm almost certain that the 326k number is now outdated. The PA Dashboard says Cumberland County has 31,970 mail ins left to count, while the last big update was 30,062 votes (I have not been keeping track of the third party votes, that may make up the difference)
