eh, you have a solid rotation though, from what I can tell. Oliver and Kingham probably won't hurt you too bad in the end.

KHarmo88 on August 7, 2013 at 05:44 PM.
Gerrit Cole is on fire. If he keeps this up and I make the playoffs, I may just have a rookie #1 in the rotation! As far as Jose, it was a trade earlier in the year. I have it posted somewhere, just have to look through the posts!

KHarmo88 on August 7, 2013 at 05:42 PM.
Too bad it backfired on me haha! Now I'm in some serious outfield issues

philliesfan136 on August 7, 2013 at 05:30 PM.
well done by Gerrit! He's on fire.how did Jose get on the Rockies again?

good stuff. Seems like a good return for both sides though - SF adds to their already solid rotation.

You know..... I had a very hard time accepting the fact that if this trade goes through, I'd lose Heredia. But the fact of the matter is, the Pirates time is now. If I can even make it to the NLCS, the Pirates will be on the map and players will want to play here again. So it's not so much about winning the World Series or losing a highly rated "PROSPECT", it's about getting respect and getting IMPACT players to WANT to play here!

philliesfan136 on August 1, 2013 at 04:33 PM.
is Heredia worth it is the question. either way, I wish I could play the Show.

Northampton Town jumped ahead early on a goal from Platt in the 16th minute. In the 43rd minute, Demontagnac tallies Northampton's 2nd goal, but it wasn't until Widdowson scored early in the 2nd half, that the game got out of reach. Langmead finished the scoring in the 87th minute for the 4-0 rout. With the win, Northampton improves to 6-2-1 and finds itself in 4th place on the league table. York City (1-1-7) finds itself last place in League 2.

York City earned its first point in more than a month after ST Scott Dobie (OVR 59, Age 33) scored his first goal of the season in the 82nd minute. After a goalless first half, Cheltenham Town took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Penn in the 46th minute. With the draw, York City moves to 1-1-6 falling to 23nd place, while Cheltenham Town (5-2-1) drops to 5th.

LB Danny Blanchett (OVR 60, Age 24) scored his team leading 2nd goal of the season in the 22nd minute to give York City its first lead in 6 games. The lead was short-lived as Gow scored in the 36th minute to tie the game at 1 before halftime. The game appeared to be headed for a draw until Dufau scored in the 82nd minute to give Exeter City the 2-1 win. York City is now 1-0-6 falling back to 22nd place in League 2. While Exeter City (3-2-2) moves up to 12th place.

York City was shutout for the 5th consecutive game. This despite changing their formation from a more defensive minded 4-4-2 to more offensively equipped 4-3-3. ST Oli Johnson got his first start of the season (OVR 55, Age 24) to replace CM Jonathan Smith (OVR 55, Age 25). CM Michael Potts received his 2nd red card of the season after two devastating fouls in the first half. The first of which led to the first goal of the game, as Madjo scored off the free kick in the 29th minute. He would score again in the 71st minute on a nice cross from RM Millar. York City is now 1-0-5 in League 2 in 21st place.

Grimes scored in the 11th minute for Rochdale, followed by a Kennedy goal in the 49th minute. York City on the other hand was only able to muster 6 shots with only 2 of those on goal. It's could be a long season if things don't turn around for York City.

Dude your Phillies have stacked their farm with these last two trades. STACKED!

Both strikers Morgan & Gornell scored for Shrewsbury Town leading to a 2-0 victory. Morgan's goal in the 29th minute was set up by a great cross by MF Wildig. Gornell was able to get behind the defense on a great pass that was nearly offside by CB Jones. This marks the 3rd straight goalless game for York City.

sonsart2 on July 29, 2013 at 07:20 AM.
Gillingham scored in the 42nd minute (Jackman) and then hung on as time expired. This marks the second clean sheet in a row against York City who's coach said, "We've got to find a way to score more goals. It's impossible to win if you can't score."

Burton Albion took control of this game late in the 1st half with a goal by Zola in the 42nd minute. Phillips quickly followed up with a goal of his own in the 56th minute, putting the game out of reach for York City. It could have been 3-0, but a missed penalty shot by Kee in the 73rd minute held the score at 2-0.

sonsart2 on July 28, 2013 at 12:13 PM.
Despite a red card for CM Jonathan Smith in the 41st minute, York City beat Dagenham & Redbridge 2-0 in their League 2 game. CM Scott Kerr (OVR 57, Age 30) opened the scoring in the 25th minute. Substitute ST Oli Johnson came into the game in the 60th minute, replacing starter Scott Dobie, and came through 11 minutes later, despite being down a man. York City's first 3 points of the season leave them in 12th place. While it's still well too early in the season to determine if this place will hold, it's a promising sign that they've gotten points early in the season. Jonathan Smith will serve a 1 game suspension on 8/14 against Burton Albion. This will likely mean that ST Jason Walker will get the start and York City will switch to a 4-3-3.

In an outcome that should have surprised no one, Bolton breezed past York City in the first round of the Capital One Cup 2-0. MF Spearing scored both goals for Bolton in the 43rd and 65th minutes. York City was simply outmanned in this game and were the deserving loser.

sonsart2 on July 28, 2013 at 11:15 AM.
Oxford United opened with a goal in the 1st minute on a penalty kick. 6 minutes later, York City responded with a goal by LB Danny Blanchett (OVR 58, Age 24). A yellow card in the 16th minute, followed by a red card in the 41st for CM Michael Potts (OVR 56, Age 20) may have ultimately sealed York City's fate. Playing down a man for the entire second half, York City allowed in inevitable goal in the 71st minute, sealing their fate on their opening League 2 contest this year.

sonsart2 on July 28, 2013 at 08:11 AM.
York City finishes its preseason with a 2-0 win over Szczecin. ST Ashley Chambers (OVR 57, Age 22) scored the first goal in the 34th minute on a great cross into the box from ST Scott Dobie. The 1-0 lead held until the 77th minute when ST Jason Walker (OVR 55, Age 28) ended Szczecin's hopes of scoring the equalizer. Onward to the nPower League 2 season where it is expected that York City will finish near the bottom of the table. The roster appears to be a little thin, particularly at the midfielder position. It does not appear that York City will be able to address this through the transfer market as their transfer budget is down to $70,000 and a remaining wage budget of $2,000. York City has invested most of their transfer budget into building a youth program and it is expected that it will be at least a year or 2 before any of these players can make it to the senior squad.

sonsart2 on July 28, 2013 at 07:50 AM.
Santa Catarina took an early 2-0 on goals by Diogo and Niell in the first 25 minutes. CM Lee Bullock responded with a goal of his own from just outside the box in the 33rd minute to conclude the scoring in the 1st half. The glimmer of hope faded quickly however, as Pittoni scored in the 63rd minute for Santa Catarina, followed by his 2nd goal in the 79th. York City moved to a 4-3-3 from a 4-2-2 in this game, and after giving up 4 goals are questioning that decision. "We might have to go back and reevaluate our formation while we have these injuries in the midfield," the York City manager said.

sonsart2 on July 28, 2013 at 07:00 AM.
A goal in the 69th minute by ST Ashley Chambers was all York City needed to win over SD Huesca. However, starting midfielder Jonathan Smith was injured in the friendly with a strained quad and is expected to be out for 3 weeks. Youngster Patrick McLaughlin (CM, OVR 5, Age 21)is likely to take his place in the lineup, although there has been some speculation that York City might move from a 4-4-2 to a 4-3-3 and add ST Jason Walker (OVR 55, Age 28 to the lineup. York City has considerably more depth at the front, and my be the impetus to alter their formation.

Yeah, I didn't want to make it too late. There's plenty of rounds, but I think a HS player being drafted that late is pretty late because they have leverage (they can always opt to go to school).

jhendricks316 on June 23, 2013 at 06:13 PM.
Team NotesDoctors say that Cueto should only miss a week with the strained quad. He will miss one start; Mike Minor will take the mound in Cueto's place. For now, Cueto remains inactive on the 25-man roster. A DL stint is unnecessary.
