I wish I were better...

Kids these days... with their lightning quick reflexes and superhuman ability to dominate me at video games. I'm just 22, so shooters and games that required "stick skills" were around when I was growing up. The problem is that my family always bought me consoles one generation late. I played NES and SNES when everyone else was playing Goldeneye. I beat Mario days before the release of Halo. To make matters worse, I never quite got a hold of first person shooters and thus never played them with friends because I'd get dominated. It became a vicious cycle of neglected my skills. It didn't bother me, though, until I realized you were starting to need them in sports titles.

In todays gaming world I have to cope with this fact and attempt to pick up the pieces of what was once my sports gaming pride. I hold my own in Madden and NCAA based on sheer understanding of the game and the fact that I've played it for years and years. The problem is that when I attempt to play a kid half my age he dominates me with user picks, jumping snap counts, and breaking my ankles. #$@#%# sunofagun.

It gets worse when I try to play FIFA. FIFA is by far the most fun game I've ever played, but I can't pull off in game moves at all whatsoever. Whenever I do a level one dribbling skill I get a geekgasm. Oh how I long for the days to come where I can do **** moves, pass like they do IRL, and shoot like I attempt to in my head. But the buttons confuse me and it's agrivating. Don't get me wrong, if it were dummied down I'd hate the game. I love the challenge of it, but I need help. Serious help. So OS, I come to you today asking a favor. Will you help me become good at video games once again?
