Baseball games have been my fondest love in gaming since Microleague Baseball on the Commodore 64. I remember when I first saw the add for it. I was heading home from a Dodger game when I was around 13...and there was this add in the back of the Dodger game day program...Microleague Baseball...complete with screenshots...I was in heaven.

I then moved on to Hardball a couple of years later...then the classic Nintendo machine with the Bases Loaded and Baseball Stars series......pure ... Read More

Alabama, you can relish the fact that you play in a conference that GUARANTEES you at least one and most probably two BCS games each year.

The Utes had to be perfect all year, and then are placed into the BCS against the mighty SEC and Alabama to get a wuppin.

LMAO.....Utah and the MWC conference proved why they are the 3rd best conference in the NCAA this year.

Still, they will not get an auto invite.....when the craptacular ACC and Big East do, and ... Read More

For the 1st time in many years, I am excited again about San Diego State Football. If you haven't heard, SDSU hired Ball State's Brady Hoke as their new head coach to replace the nice, but drab and inept Chuck Long.

Now Hoke does have risks...some say he may be a one season wonder, but his assistant coaching hires have Aztec land bristling with excitement.

First we have our new offensive coordinator, Al Borges. Now I know he had some down seasons at Auburn, but over ... Read More

Oklahoma, a team that lost to Texas on a neutral field, has now leapfrogged Texas into the Big 12 title game vs. Missouri. Upon winning, which I am sure is a formality, Oklahoma will play for the BCS title.

The BCS never ceases to amaze me. Every year we get some screwball outcome. They say it cannot be changed because it would make the regular season insignificant. Well Texas BEAT Oklahoma and will not get a chance for the title, therefore, it is ALREADY insignificant.

Yesterday a dream came true. An anonymous donor, (who knew SDSU had them), went to President Stephen Weber, and put up the money to buy out Chuck Long from coaching our sad football team. WoooooHooooo!

Where do we go from here? Speculation rests on Terry Bowden, Dirk Kuetter and others. here is my rankings list.

1) Terry Bowden:

Positives: Would immediately excite the fan base. Went 20-1-1 in his first two years at Auburn. Would bring national media ... Read More

A couple of years ago, I picked up NCAA Football 07 used for around $20.

I let it sit in my bonepile for a long while, but I finally got around to playing it earlier this year.

Wow, what a game it is. I found a slider set here on OS, downloaded some rosters, and I am now having the time of my life with NCAA for the first time since 2003.

I am playing in a dynasty with my beloved alma mater, San Diego State. I have had some incredible games.

I know the BCS has been covered/uncovered, blended, and bludgeoned to death but I am going to add another twist.

I am an SDSU alum. We play (actually, get bludgeoned ourselves) in the Mountain West Conference. Home of BYU, Utah, TCU, etc.

We are not in a BCS conference.

Right now, we are arguably the 4th best conference in NCAA Football behind the Big 12, SEC and PAC 10. We have posted victories over the PAC 10, Big 10, and the SEC.

This mornings craptacular San Diego Union Tribune newspaper was another treat.

27 Billion needs to be cut from the California State Budget, with 2.5 billion being cut from schools.....YAY!

The SD city council is voting on 45 million in budget cuts, and 9 librarys, 7 rec centers are on the block to save 2.5 million....with my local library on the block. The one that is 1 block from both an elementary and middle school....YAY!

Meanwhile, the city will ... Read More

I last lamented the fact I have no time or money to game. Well, in reality, I do have around 1-2 hours a night I can game with...usually between 8 PM and 10 PM.

The money part is not good however. I am on a teachers salary that pays my mortgage and supports my wife and 2 young boys.

I started a strategy a couple of years ago and I am beginning to see the fruits of it.

You see, I do not buy any of the big games that come out August-December. I now wait ... Read More

Here I am, 37 years old and I feel one of the loves of my personal life getting farther and farther from me.

I have been gaming since I was 4 years old when my brother received a Pong machine in 1975.

I now game less then I ever have in my life.

A wife, and 2 young kids will do that to you.

Also, I have less and less cash to purchase games.

A stay at home wife and 2 young kids will do that to you.

Don't ... Read More
