Forced layups are so bad this year...

If I'm driving to the rim, idc if I have a slasher build or not, I should NEVER get forced into a layup animation while holding turbo. You think you have a step on the defender and the help defense is late... Only to get a slow layup animation that I'm not expecting that gets swatted. ESPECIALLY if I'm on a slasher build with contact animations. That's the reason I stopped playing slashers this year. Waaayyyy too many forced layups.

I have a 6'1 2 way shooter PG and I have more attempts in the right corner than I do at the rim in the last 50 games.

Have a PF and a PG slasher that both shoot the 3 at a pretty high clip. That should keep my defender honest. But if I make a 3 one play, get him to close out, then meet the big man 1 on 1 at the rim that should be curtains. I'm not asking for contacts every time. I'm not saying I should never get swatted. But at least let me GET UP.

If you want to 100% guarantee a dunk attempt then you gotta use the force dunk stick mechanic.

I don't get how anyone can consistently time the dunk meter online. Alley Oops the same thing.

If this method is what's going to be required from us to do these maneuvers, then the latency must be perfect.

Nah. You don't have to be perfect.

He may have last gen, which doesn’t have the dunk meter…

but if you are on next gen…get comfortable with the dunk meter. It’s extremely useful for those situations. A lot of slashers have mastered it and it has made them deadly attacking the rim.

2k killed slashing when aiming was removed. Layups and crafty finishes were finally viable. They took a step back this year for “competitiveness” as I don’t find forcing dunks realistic.

A lot of people complain about pre determined animations and how that makes it unrealistic. The force dunk mechanic literally takes away the pre determined animation. The decision is yours. In game 1 of the Grizzlies-Wolves game Anthony Edwards had a force dunk attempt but he missed it. I would say it is realistic for players to attempt a dunk in tough situations.
