I miss when video game covers were pictures of the athletes in their jersey playing the sport they play. One year the NHL cover was a player in street clothes outside in the sun. I don't get it.

I agree. I miss the action shot covers. I don't wanna see close ups of faces or sitting on something starring into the camera. OH WELL

Yeah,NHL 23 had Anaheim's center with a Canadian female player and palm trees in the background.The trailer had a street hockey theme as if they didn't think marketing the actually NHL hockey would work with young folk I guess.
