Are they relative to position like the attribute grades or no?

For example, with the attribute grades, 'A - Man Coverage' at linebacker or safety will be significantly lower than 'A - Man Coverage' at corner.

Is it the same for the athletic ratings?

For example, if a Right End is showing 'Solid-Good' speed, change of direction, etc. but he's 6'3, 298lbs, is that misleading because he's in the same position group as a bunch of 250lbs guys? If he was instead included in the Defensive Tackle position group, would his speed, change of direction, etc. actually be 'Good-Great', for example?

I’ve always wondered this also. A DT with a 85 Agility rating still shouldn’t be as “agile” as a WR with that rating.

The letter grades are relative to the position. The linebacker with an A for man coverage will not have as high an MCV rating as a CB with an A.


The numerical grades are absolute, and not relative to position. 85 Agility is 85 agility regardless of the player position.
