If you are using a safety, you can get there; but you have to cheat up towards the LOS if you smell it if you are using the FS.

If you are using a SS you should be able to knife through the linemen and get between the QB and the HB, just as if you were using a LB. You are closer to he line the SS, and you are faster then the LB, generally.

The problem with the screen pass in this game, is that the AI makes your defensive players ignore their assignment, and walk themselves into blocks, in order for the play to work.

You'll see this nonsense happen on a WR screen vs a hard cover 2, and even press man.

Another trick vs the screen is to audible your DLs to rush wide....they create a bit of a barrier, and they flow to the HB better.
DE contains work well against the screen.

I can lock this play down, and it's actually a pretty easy to read... I just need to have a better finish once I get to the HB.

Another nice advantage to playing DL on 3rd down is sniffing out screens. You can completely take that aspect away.

I've had the most success playing pass D though lately.

Me and him have been in a game. We're in the 4th quarter. He'll be ready after that.

See, I'm not reading it well at the outset; I'm just containing it well when it happens.

What's the tell at the snap? The OL delay just a tad and so does the HB from what I can see, so I have a hard time diagnosing right away.

How do owners feel about turning it up to All Madden?

I got a good suggestion about this and it's something I've been considering for a few reasons:
--offensive statistics are just ridiculous, especially rushing ones
--CPU games are horrid and kill our league stats
--certain AI issues regarding the diagnosis of plays by the other 10 guys could be tightened up.

Thoughts?

One thing I like about this league is that it's constantly pushing me to get better. I'd welcome the challenge myself.

We could implement at the halfway point of this season, or after the regular season.

Discuss . . .

I'm okay with All Madden. At this point in the game I read defense really well so it wouldn't hurt to have more solid pursuit.

Hint for the screen: Watch the RB. He takes a couple of steps towards the OL then stands straight up and down, motionless. I just watch for this. It's actually easy to diagnose real early if you watch the RB. He gives a look that only happens on screens.

Re: ACQB M10 Franchise Game Discussion/Ish-Talking Thread

The problem with All Madden is that there's A LOT of cheating that goes on with the CPU players.

Even a bottom-of-the-barrel player becomes a star when he's controlled by the CPU on All Madden.

If you haven't seen those videos that show how much All Madden cheats, you should:

I prefer All Pro because it still lets the stars be stars and the bums be bums instead of turning all the bums into stars just because they're under the CPU's control.

I kind of agree with you. I want bad players to continue to play bad and good ones to stand out. I think a lot of the big yardage given up is from bad playcalling, not player issues.

Even in ultimate team with a 60 OVR team I've locked down teams in the 80's with solid playcalling.

Yeah, I'm against going to all-madden unless a more solid argument is presented. It's not like legend in APF. The D is already solid on all-pro IMO. I've always gotten the feeling that the game cheats on all-madden more than balancing anything out.
