When do you officially suck at something?

I'm playing PGA Tour Road for the first time

It's my first time playing ANY golf game, I'm playing 18 holes on Bay Hill and I'm +12 on the first 9 holes.

I'm having fun at least 😂😂

I was worse I think. Lol

It will eventually click. It's what I love about this game if you manage your attributes properly to not exceed your skill level, you can have a seriously fun and challenging game.

I won my first tournament at bay Hill then proceeded to miss the next 2 cuts. Then a top 10 and top 25 finish then another missed cut.

I love that about this game.

Blackhawk - As Cujo said it will get better. I’ve found this game to be more difficult at the outset than other golf games that I have played, you just need to get used to its quirks. For example just about all of the long club shots (3 iron) will go though the green so you need to club down but the shorter irons like wedges won’t.

The ‘control’ attributes for your golfer pay the most dividends. Just keep teeing it up and you will progress.

Re: When do you officially suck at something?

Thanks for the encouragement guys really appreciate it. I bought PGA Tour Road PS5 online for $36 including shipping so I can't wait to get my own copy.

I recently played PGA Tour 2aK23 and man was it a lot harder but I did manage to make a few birdies to go with my few double bogies lol.

As bill Murray says in caddy shack "Oh there will be no money, but when you die you will receive total consciousness, so I'll have that to look forward to... Which is nice"

I was flat out terrible when first playing. Now I’m pretty decent. My biggest problem was approach shots either being way short or rolling off the green. I don’t know if that’s your issue but what helped me the most was doing high shots on approach shots.

That sounds good. I'll take all the advice I can get.

Remind me again how do I setup high shots?
Thanks.

You can select move the shot type to be high or low, fade or draw or a mix. It one of the sticks, which one depends on your controller configuration. I'm using RS to swing the club so I can use the LS to change the trajectory.

I was also really struggling, but watched a few YouTube videos yesterday about shot types and wind/elevation and it helped me. I played three rounds last night, +4, -1, and -4. By far my best, I had been in the +20 range.

Coming from 2k I was terrible at first. So bad that I discovered the shot limit 3 times on my first try (torrey pines) I wanted to give up, but the game is too enjoyable for me (especially the challenges and career mode)
