Evaluation
Leach is an explosive linebacker with coveted size and speed. Tall, thickly-built with the frame for added growth. Moves very well between the tackles with good short-area quickness and change-of-direction skill. Mirrors backs well and displays great downhill burst when he squares up to meet ball carriers in the hole. Explosive blitzer who is near impossible to block for smaller running backs in pass pro. Flashes great vertical attacking skills on the outside with his ability to get to the edge quickly, a true sideline-to-sideline guy with a very high motor. Can be difficult to beat in a phone booth as well; shows great short-area power squeezing the run inside. Consistently jolts blockers back with an explosive strike. Flashes some fluidity as well slipping the cutoff block and sidestepping trash. Difficult to turn or reach at the point of attack with his blend of quickness, strength and body length. Needs to watch his leverage but is a very strong tackler who drives through ball carriers and limits second efforts. Does need to play more under control at times to avoid overrunning the ball. Could struggle with his high-cut frame breaking down sharply on the outside, changing direction and mirroring quicker D-I skill players in the open field. Not an ideal space player but can also struggle on the inside when teams run straight at him. Does not always look very reactive and often lets linemen reach him at the second level. Mosley rojects best as a strong side 'backer in a heavy pressure system or the outside guy in the 3-4. Does need some polish and work on his diagnosing skills but you can't coach his toughness, explosiveness and ability to run and hit between the white lines. Has a lot of physical upside left; expect recruiting to heat up for this guy.
