Springtime in Texas...

Looks like our DFW FOFCers are gonna have to batten down the hatches tonight. Looks like the first superstorm of the season is going to come barrelling through tonight.

Hope this isn't a repeat of 1995, when the storms came early and often, culminating in the huge storm on Cinco de Mayo.

Sky looks fine right now, but at around 6pm we got a severe t-storm warning till 4am. Guess it's gonna hit us in the middle of the night...

Yep, take a look at the radar. On a line from Wichita Falls/Abilene/Lockhart, the radar screen looks like the one on the plane before it crashes in "Cast Away". Lots of reds, oranges, skulls and crossbones...

I will be monitoring the situation from the safety of my bunker in Illinois. If there are any survivors, post here and I'll send for help.

Oooh, pretty colors!

If it doesn't shift too much it looks like the storm will hit to the north and south of us and we'll barely miss the ugly stuff. We'll see how it goes, though...

I didn't realize how much I missed storm season and tornado season until I left for school for a year and there were only a couple of storms in Chicago and about one tornado warning in the whole area.

We had some horrible storms here in Louisiana this evening, and the word is that we might get some bad weather from Texas tomorrow.

We're supposed to get some of this rain in Tally by tomorrow and a couple of days after. We desperately need the rain, though.

Speaking of which, on Saturday we drove from Tallahassee all the way to Tampa and did not see a single speck of cloud in the sky for the entire trip. Pretty amazing. We spent the entire day on Sunday at Busch Gardens. Absolutely perfect amusement park weather - sunny, not too cold or hot, nice breeze. With two young kids, we stayed from park open (9:30) to park close (7:30). If it had been May, I would have been ready to leave by 2pm, easy.
