Anyone now the day the new FOX show 'Skin' comes on?

Being dead serious.

I've seen like 5000 promos for it during the football season/baseball playoffs, but have no idea what day it is on. I have no desire to watch it, but just curious as to how I have failed to pick up on this.

If FOX has failed to catch my attention, an avid TV watcher, then who will tune in for this shit.

One thing I did notice though: What is up with the a hispanic looking son having a white dad, and a white looking girl have a hispanic looking dad? The casting makes little sense.

The whole show makes little sense. It has the storyline of a "movie of the week" or maybe a cheap Showtime movie at best. I can't see a whole season of that.

Actually, just rent Crazy Beautiful, it has basically the same storyline. I think i made out during it, but I know it had Kirsten Dunst and some hispanic boy.

Spot on. Boring movie, but Dunst was at least something to look at.

Shakespeare is far from a guilty pleasure. Unless you like the Love's Labour Lost movie. That would be something to be guilty of.

Especially given that the promo steals two scenes directly from the most recent Romeo & Juliet movie (the scene under the sheets and the underwater scene).

Yeah, I don't understand how that storyline works as the basis for a show. For a movie of the week, maybe. As the basis for a show that would, presumably, be around for a couple of years at least, it sounds like it would get stale real quick. Not that I'll be watching.

If I have to hear "Her father is the district attorney!" or that dufus from OC saying "He's just a kid who has no place TA GO!" one more time, I'm going to shoot myself. Or worse, start rooting for the Yankees.

By episode five, the ads will be like, "And on a very special Skin, Julia runs away from home again!" If I were them, I would have switched the families and had the daughter's Dad be the district attorney -- this way, Ron Silver could have lured her into the porn business after she dumped his son. I guess "Skin" is supposed to be some sort of take on racism... but the whole show would probably be infinitely more interesting if it were some sort of take on the porn industry.

I mean, c'mon, it's frickin' Fox! Just make the jump and show nudity already!
