Notes:
My scouts O-Line evaluating skills dropped this year. He’s young, I thought they would only increase. Nevertheless, I am keeping him because he is still outstanding.
I would change coaches in a minute if there were one better, but there is not. My coach didn’t gain or lose in ratings.

PRE-DRAFT TRANSACTIONS-
Notes:
Designated G M. Tejada Franchise Player. I have a few crucial free agents this season, but I need to maintain a Offinsive line and Tejada is my best guard by far.
I hope to resign my key free agents, I am hoping that I can get my cap down and that guys that I cannot afford will not be picked up by another team because they are demanding so much. Right now, before I begin free agency, I am just $4,610,000 under the cap. The salary cap is $108.9 million. I have the 9th and 19th pick in the upcoming draft, 5 picks in the 2nd round (the 4th, 6th, 16th, 19th, & 32nd of the round), two 3rd rounders (the 10th and 19th picks of the round), two 4th (9th and 24th) and one 7th (19th). That’s a lot. I’ll need a ton of cap space for all those guys.
Now that free agency has begun, I am $4,600,000 over the cap. It’s a disaster. I have no choice but trade Batch, my highest paid player. I trade Batch to TBY with my two first round draft picks for young QB T. Greer. I am now $1,690,000 under the cap.
I am also trading Holliday as Pritchett and Banks can cover the loss and Holliday is now my 2nd highest paid player at $5,750,000 (Serra is my highest paid player). I am going to trade picks for a player with potential. Two seasons ago I nearly picked T V. Blackner in the first round but chose DE Pritchett instead (a very good player now). Now I am going to trade 10 year vet T A. Meadows to MIN for Blackner, straight across. This is both an upgrade and a salary cap cut. CB Dixon will be able to eventually fill Springs’ shoes. So I will trade Springs, but I would rather keep him- he just makes too much money ($4,160,000) and will not renegotiate with me. I will try to get a quality CB in return who I will not have to pay more than 1.5-1.8M. Springs is currently my 2nd highest paid player and a 10 year vet. I now have four 1st round picks in 2008, so I package my pick (not a traded-for pick) and Springs to RAL for last years 2nd pick overall CB N. Tice (who I will pay 1.5M this year). I am now $10,270,000 under the cap and do not have any 1st round draft picks, but I do have five 2nd round choices, two 3rd, two 4th, and one 7th. I am going to rectify my mistake last season and trade Serra for a quality young RB who will not allow me to drop off at the position and will cost me less and has a few years left on his contract. It’s all I can do right not to get some control over my salary cap.

POST-DRAFT TRANSACTIONS-
Notes:
I am forced to continue to trade players in an effort to get my salary cap manageable again. I was unable to sign Mason and Hazel.
Tejada would not sign a long term deal, so I am trading him. Rivera is younger and will cost me less. I have a couple key free agents next year, LB Coffey & WR Bauer and Brewer the most important and I cannot resign them.
The trade with Shield didn’t save me a lot of money, but it did give me a younger guard who will be just as good as Shields. Dixon has 4 years left on his contract and Shields was going to be a free agent (this is to be his 14th season).
Bauer’s pending free agency meant I had no choice but trade him. WR Holmes was the 23rd pick in the draft and he was signed to a very low 5-year deal. Plus Holmes was drafted from Western Washington. Perfect.
To avoid DE banks’ free agency, he is traded. The player I received in return, DE Davidson was the 3rd pick of this years draft, will be better than Banks.
Trading CB Dillon was tough, but I signed Free Agent CB Rivera and the CB I traded for, Gunn, has 3 years left on his contract and he’s almost as good as Dillon.
I know all these moves have hurt my cohesion, but I don’t have too many free agents next season now and I traded for guys who’s contract are all small and long. My biggest mistake so far is not trading the 1st overall pick last year. I show have stuck with Wright, who- by the way- is an available free agent now.

ROSTER/SCOUT OVERVIEW-
Notes:
I don’t think my coach is right for my team. It looks like several guys lost in skill points from last year. I will do everything I can to sign a decent coach next season who can develop young talent.
