There used to be a poster back in the early days by the name of Dolamite. He would often post 4 or 5 times in a row. So, his legacy is that whenever someone posts consecutively, they preface the later posts with 'Dola'.

And that's the rest of the story.

Then I knew not to post consecutively unless absolutely necessary.

And if you wish to put it to post padding use, follow JeeberD's tips:

Ha. You forgot your Dola. Also, post counts don't seem to matter much anymore since it doesn't show how many you have under your name. Good stuff though.

Lets add a bit more to the story. Dola didn't like that he wasn't popular and he made the assumption that it was due to his low post count. Dolamite didn't just post 4-5 times in a row he'd spread out one thought into many posts in the hopes of getting his count up.

A true dola is like this. It's about padding post counts by adding a new post not editing your old one. Replying to someone elses post for example is not a dola.

And in recent years we've tended to use dola pretty often to refer to what is really just serial posting as opposed to an effort to actually pad your post count.

Which only make sense since most of our newer members don't know the story and the easiest thing to figure out is that it's serial posting. That's mainly why I added the extra explanation in the first place.

A Wigslam, or a Wigfecta, as it is more commonly known, is having the most recent post in every single forum, so the front page of the forums shows every forum has the latest post by you. Nearly impossible now with all the sub-forums.

I did it once, really late, maybe five years ago. That was when you had to do it, early in the morning.

The Dolamite fracas was absolute hilarity. I was probably on Sidelines maybe a handful of months (if that) when that happened. I remember the big stick for Dolamite was getting to "Grizzled Veteran" status. Forget what the newbs were called on the old board. "Rookie"?

Dolamite was really annoying and childish in his short time here, but he definitely left his mark.

Dola, "here" being the Front Office Football community.

To my knowledge, I don't believe the original Dolamite ever posted at FOFC. He was long gone before the big showdown that led to the exodus from Sidelines to the board we had before moving to this one (when FOFC was truly born).

I would occasionally get a wigfecta when I lived in Italy. Early morning there was the perfect time.
