Ping: Georgia Bulldog Fans
Here's an entertaining article on 83 year old Larry Munson, who has been the radio announcer of the Georgia Bulldogs for the past 41 years. He really sticks it to Tennessee in those "Classic Munson" bits on the right side of the page.

I can only assume that the articles were prompted by the roast of Munson at a charity fundraiser earlier this month. (I didn't want anybody to think the guy had suddenly died or something).
He is almost without a doubt the most recognizable figure in the state of Georgia, and of the most beloved. He's the one thing about them Dawgs that even I don't hate. For those who have never had the pleasure: http://www.larrymunson.com/audio.asp The primary victim of Herschel, btw, was eventual 15 year pro Bill Bates.

The Hobnail Boot, Butler's kick from "100,000 miles," and of course the Belue-Scott TD against Florida are my all time favorites. Sugar falling from the sky gets an honorable mention.

"Well, I don't believe it. 92 yards and Lindsay really got in a footrace, I broke my chair, I came right through a chair, a metal STEEL chair...Do you know what is gonna happen here tonight? And up at St. Simons, Jekyll Island, and all those places, where all those Dawg people have got those condominiums for four days...MAN, is there gonna be some property destroyed tonight!"
Doesn't get much better than that.

I grew up listening to Munson, you couldn't get the games on tv, and he was a great way to keep up with the dawgs.
