Replace a lost yearbook?

My sisters 1988 and 1989 yearbooks were destroyed by my asshole ex-brother in law and tommorow is my sisters birthday so I wanna see if I can somehow obtain new copies of them. I know some of you are teachers out there, I was just wondering if anyone has info on how I can do this or if I can do it. I contacted the school district and they weren't much help. Any input would be appreciated.

As someone who worked on the yearbook staff in high school, I think it will be difficult. Our printing run only allowed for very few extras to be printed after what was pre-ordered. The only possibility would be to find out who was the printer and maybe and I stress maybe, they still have the originals, but 15 years ago is tough.

When I was in high school my school still had extras available from 15 years back that you could buy. Contact the school directly. They would know more than the district office.

I think it is a very nice gesture...but I think the coolest thing about yearbooks, was getting all the signatures from your classmates...that unfortunately can never be replaced.

That sounds like a nice gesture, but if the yearbook idea fails, another nice gift would be to kick her ex's ass.

You could also try to find out who the faculty person involved with the yearbook was and try to contact them directly. I know at my high school the yearbook advisor kept several copies (5-10) extra of each year.

Even if you could get an old yearbook, how are you going to get the personalized comments replaced? You know, the ones that go...

"I think you are really special. Good luck in the future!" (from someone who don't know who you are)

"I am so glad that we were friends. Love ..." (from someone who was not your friend)

"I will miss you very much, you are really sweet. Love ..." (from someone who completely ignored you)

LOL, I got a couple of these from girls who wouldn't otherwise give me the time of day.

I used to get alot of those also, but than it got to depressing, so now I don't even bother to have people sign my yearbook.
