Michigan takes down a very game Connecticut squad, 31-17 in front of the home crowd. We had a lot of trouble stopping their passing game, but made enough plays to build a 31-10 lead before allowing them to trim it to a 2-score victory. Would've liked a bigger margin of victory, but still a win against a team rated not much lower than we are. Go Wolverines!

Nice win. I haven't been playing the game much so am a bit nervous about week 1 heh.
Also, being an Indiana guy, how can you stand playing with Michigan? Last edited by Bigsmooth : 08-14-2010 at 12:59 AM. |

It requires me to turn off a piece of my brain. Especially since I loathe Tate Forcier in real life. The chance to screw up things for Ohio State each season is nice compensation for me. I just wanted to have a chance to be competitive. Indiana was so far behind the pack in terms of ratings that I would have been guaranteed ass-kickings all year. Next year I plan to go back to them. 45-7, first game. Not bad.
Could we turn down the holding a touch or two, I think there were 8-9 holding calls in my game (most of them against the CPU, for sure, but still).. Funny moment, they had first and goal at my 5 in the first quarter, but committed holding on consecutive plays, threw two incompletions and then we got a coverage sack (where another holding penalty was called, but declined), and they actually had to punt.

Yeah, UConn had a bunch of holding calls in my game too. I'll turn that down for Week 2 (if I remember).

Beat SMU 48-24. Scored a lot late, and did some running up of the score because I needed to get used to this air attack Texas Tech uses. We lost our starting QB Potts for the year but thankfully Sheffield our backup is an 89 so there isn't much of a drop off.
Shefield was 31/55 for 547 yards and 5 TD - 3 INT. I had 8 guys catch passes, 4 of them had 5 or more catches. Another 3 had 3 catches. Don't plan on throwing 55 times anymore (I hope) but this is probably the first time in any NCAA I have used an offense like this. |

Just had our way with Western Michigan, almost think after seeing my numbers and everyone elses numbers we need to tone down Human Running or bump up CPU Run D. With my backup OL and 3rd/4th string backs we ran wild.
I will say William Gholston is a lot of fun to play with |

In my solo dynasty I've upped Pass Coverage +5 for both CPU and Human, also upped CPU Run Defense +5 and have gotten great results.

Wisconsin rolled over UNLV. Clay is absolutely a beast. He went down for a series after the first drive. The back up Ball did pretty good too.
I did not realize that video highlights would be available for everyone to see. We should all remember to archive a set each game. It was fun watching the ones posted. Last edited by Grammaticus : 08-14-2010 at 10:42 PM. |

Definitely should have played before just trying to jump in and play Week 1. This was the first time I've played NCAA 11 and it showed as I had no defense at all. I started getting the hang of it but ended up with a few stupid turnovers and lost to Rutgers 42-35. We'll be fine though. The offense started to click a bit so I feel we'll be alright heading into our next game. I will definitely get a few practice games in though beforehand.

Yeah, I think running for the human could be toned down just a notch with this patch and tuner set. I had a huge day with Dillon and Bradford and Barkley threw for over 300 yards and 4 TD's as we beat Colorado State 70-10 in our opener. It was 49-10 late in the 3rd when I pulled my starters and I still scored 21 more just running the ball with only 1 pass in the 4th.
edit to add: The CPU running game felt good to me though. Had a decent challenge trying to stop their run and passing game. 2nd edit: Then again, I was playing against CSU - not a great run defense. I'm good with keeping the sliders the same for another week - either way is good with me.

Yeah, the human running seems a bit easy even though I lost. I still ran for about 300 yards I think and this was my very first time even playing NCAA 11.

Beat Baylor 40-34 although it really wasn't that close at all. They hit lucky TD passes of 77, 47, and 45 yards in the last 2:00 of the game. Crazy. Noticed they were called for like 7 holding penalties. Not sure if that's excessive, they just all came on 3rd down conversions it seemed.

I think it's good otherwise...
Question: How many more people have to do their week 1 games?

Didn't do too bad. Only lost a couple of hundred over 4 days. I've had worse trips out there But, I'm currently stuck in Phoenix. The flight took off late out of Vegas and I missed my connection. Right now, I'm guaranteed to be on the 7pm flight. If I don't make it onto an earlier one, then I won't get the game played until tomorrow.

(whistles in relief)
Up by 3 with two minutes to play, we get a key play, as the QB holds onto the ball an instant too long, attempts to throw while being hit, and we intercept, take it back to the 1, and score the clinching TD on the next play. Ohio State survives, 38-28.

Whatever those changes were pretty much crippled my team. Night and day difference between the two games I played today.

Western Michigan gave us fits in the first half, but we dominated them in the second half, and added some rubber points at the end just to say F-U to our instate rivals.

Well that was a heartbreaker. Up 5 with under 3 minutes to go and Royster fumbles on the one, it goes out of the end zone for a touchback. We make a stop and get the ball back. Very next play, nice ten yard run by Royster who again fumbles, his third. Alabama takes the ball and this time makes use of it. They win 34-28.

Nope. Not playing much has left me a bit rusty and prone to stupid mistakes. You can be sure the next time I'll be making sure the ball is covered up though. This time around felt much better though. Never had time for a practice game so I felt pretty good how I played for the most part. |

That was probably your problem then. I use it whenever anyone is around me, and rarely get fumbles.

Same here. I had a VERY challenging game against Cal and barely won on a 32 yard TD pass to Brandon Carswell of all people at the whistle. Barkley led us on a great 1 minute drive to end the game as we won 21-20 at Berkley.

Ohio State destroys Ohio 51-3, and honestly, if the sportsmanship thing didn't warn me for a 5 yard pass with 5:00 to play in the third quarter, I could have had more. At that point it was run run run the whole rest of the way (although that was bad enough, Brandon Saine, State's star RB had 185 yards on 20 carries and 2 TD's).
The reserves played the last couple minutes of the third, and all of the 4th
