Tilt
Just when I thought espn couldn't make anything worse than playmakers.... they've gone and done it. Congrats guys! This show is horrible.

playmakers at least was...funny. entertaining. You could wonder who was going to snap next, when DH (was that his name?) was finally going to smoke crack during a game...etc. Tilt was just...BLAH.

It'll be replayed on ESPN for 16 hours a day the next week though.
Wasn't as bad as I figured it'd be, but then again my expectations were well below the cellar. |

Is it too early to do a SportsCentury bit on it?

My word this is insanely awful.
And unfortunately my roommate insists on recording it AND watching it repeatedly. Kill me now. Please. ~tk

Was the scene where the guy jumps over the table because of a bad beat in today's episode? That's the only thing I wanted to see.

Yeah but it wasnt because of a bad beat. I only watched the beginning and then vomited but I think the guy jumping across the table was acting upset for some reason rather than actually being upset.

well, if you must know
*spoilers (as if anyone cares)* he was acting upset so it didn't look like the two knew each other because they are all supposed to be in a little "gang" headed by some old dude that is apparently out to get revenge on this "matador" guy who busted all of them (via cheating). And that's the big...thrust of the series. |

that was truly terrible. Unlike Playmakers, I did make it through a whole episode. Like Playmakers, I can't imagine I'll be tuning in again.

I guess this is not the thread to admit thinking it wasn't horrible. I'll go back to my shovel now

I would give you my thoughts on the show, but after about 15 minutes, I used the nearest pen to poke out my eyeballs and destroyed my ear drums. Thankfully I'm a great typist anyway...

I'm not sure whether the storyline, the writing or the acting was more horrible. I like the fact that ESPN and the creators keep talking about how "realistic" it is and showing the stories you don't see on the WSOP and WPT.
Am I supposed to belive Phil Hellmuth has a hooker in his bathroom on call so he can go in there and get a blow job and that Phil Ivey, Daniel Negraneu and Dutch Boyd are part of a gang led by Doyle Brunson to bring down Phil Lederer? And they couldn't come up with a better name than "The Matador?" This show may have the most cliches of any program in basic cable history, and that's saying something. |

It could totaly redeem itself if at the end of the first season Madsen ties everyone up and cuts off their ears.

You are, after all, talking about the network that would rather show the national Scrabble championships instead of, say, SOCCER. No I'm not bitter or anything. Screw poker, screw Scrabble... I want SOCCER and I can't get FSN here. ~tk

I still think the worse show ever was ESPN's Junction Boys. Gave up on ESPN after Playmakers, so I have not seen "3" or Tilt. |

I'm a little scared to admit this, but after watching through Tilt two more times (three total), I'm actually interested to see what happens next episode.

yay... ESPN is showing the first 3 episodes of Tilt tonight... again. I don't know what's worse, that or the ESPN2 showing of Beloit vs. Grinnell College.
